Switched my phone line to Plusnet about 6 weeks ago, having had their broadband for nearly 4 years. Found that my phone number had been "changed" by BT Openreach on Friday !! Plusnet support have been superb in 1. understanding the problem and 2. passing the issue to Openreach in quick time - engineer has been to exchange and sorted it out this morning.
Past experience with BT Customer services in Mumbai?? I'd probably still be trying to explain the problem:rotfl:

I've had plusnet broadband for about 4-5 years, can't fault it.

I changed from Madasafish to Plusnet a few days ago. However, this will probably not affect most.
I 'phoned MAAF/Plusnet to give the required 10 days notice then ordered Plusnet b/b (Extra) and 'phone with the same person. This was on the 1st August. My Plusnet b/b went "live" that day. I was advised my MAAF account would close on the 13th, no, that should be the 10th?! So not only would they theoretically bill me for 13 days instead of 10, 3 days too many, they say that because my account will be closed I will be charged full price for the MAAF b/b this month! To rub salt into the wound they are taking a full months cost £25+ from my bank account for some reason, I was paying £14. On 'phoning about this I was told it couldn't be changed but to call AFTER the Direct Debit had been taken and it would be sorted out.
I wonder why I don't believe that because I'm not getting the package as promised when ordered by 'phone. A higher price is showing in my account and only for three months then reverting to full price! So I'm in effect going to pay more for moving to them compared to staying with MAAF and 'phone provider! O.k. I have a 60Gb allowance but never normally exceed anywhere near that, but their 10Gb is not enough.
So beware of what you're told verbally, their sales people appear to be just the same as anywhere else, misleading offers to get a sign up. So no, in my case it's not "good honest broadband". At least it doesn't require speaking to a "brick wall" in Bombay or similar!
Of course, I took their router so tied in for 12 months unless I pay them lots of money.
There are alternatives at my exchange now, that's why I was offered a good deal. So in 12 months I'm going elsewhere.

If anybody is thinking of joining and is concerned that they may not end up with the deal they were offered over the phone - ask them to email you confirmation - they did this no problem for me.

Grumbler - The £50 was a readily available cash back that unfortunately ended on the 28th July according to C/S

Another thumbs up for plusnet here - great customer service and from a techie point of view, the best quality connection I've ever had.

Thinking of upgrading to fibre once my 12 months is up (it's a month-to-month contract, but cancel within 12 months and you have to pay for the router).

No hassle and the price is great, talktalk is cheaper but the connection was far worse and as for customer service...
