I would just prefer to see issues raised on manners and etiquette taken up with the appropriate channels, instead of making misinformed comments to a forum where no action can be taken on the subject.
There seems to be a problem with this happening though, I guess if it is addressed directly and action taken, then the the cliquey level of "thanked posts" will drop dramatically around these parts ;-)<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Hi! I am looking for a large tent, preferably for 4 people, cooler,
coleman stove and lantern, sleeping bags, heater and a few fishing
poles and reels. Would appreciate these things very much . I am
from the truro area and can pick up....Also looking for a computer desk
with hutch. I have a friend that can pick up items....
thanks in advance0 -
So it appears that the Ignore option is used by those without the strength to justify their own misguided opinions and comments, whilst taking a Daily Mail-esque "thats terrible/shocking/scandalous, but I'd rather criticise, mock whinge and yap about it than resolve" attitude.
So why not ignore those on Freecycle who you do not approve off? You do not have to receive every email, or respond to every request, or offer your item to the first person that answers to your offered post - that's one of the most enjoyable aspects of Freecycle - picking through emails to decide who most deserves the item offered.
There are a lot of people waiting for your comments on the Newcastle & Stoke free2chat group - if you are not too afraid to deal with the response you are likely to receive from those that you have felt the need to mock and criticise.
Come on, I'm only happy to continue the debate, but if you are not then by default you are admitting that I have a more valid point than yours.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Lots of good 'offereds' on my group, including a cream leather sofa, bike, single bed. Not too many wanted ads - and none of the greedy wants we used to see so regularly. I think the Mods have definitely clamped down in that department :T
Did you find a home for the rocking horse, webitha?
