got a 2 seater sofabed and matching sofa from my freecycle last night and so pleased with them, a lovely lady moving in with her fella so didn't need them anymore. must admit though there isn't anything I really need now I am hooked on looking still, and some of the things people ask for on the offchance are amazing! we have had a mail from the mods about the wanteds not being a wish list, but there are still people asking for laptops/mobiles/games consoles etc.
Put the flags up, a happy freecycler with an excellent result for both parties. There is a God after all![STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]

Hiya folks,
Just thought I'd post about a brilliant freecycle moment too, today.
I offered a brand new Scouts / Cubs gym bag and got a lovely reply only minutes later from a lady who's daughter is going away on her first camp at the end of the month and I offered in my post to post it as it was really light, and she included her address if she was the "chosen one".
Her reply was lovely and as I was literally going to be passing her house, I decided to drop it off impromptu so to speak. Well the house was in a really quite affluent area of the town and my first instinct was I'm surprised someone in this area would be using freecyle in the first place and let alone willing to ask for something which seemed so trivial and could be bought for a few pounds.
To cut a long story short, I met the most wonderful down to earth lady and children, who certainly did not fit the image of the house or area and her kids were lovely too. Just normal run of the mill folks, not up for anything just because it was on offer. The bag will be put to good use and her daughters face was a picture, glowing still as I walked away. She even told her daughter in front of me that I was from "that website!" which made me giggle as I walked back to my car.
It goes to show you, you can't judge those who use freecycle, by the area they live in, as those who live in the poshest of area's can be as grateful for something small as those of us in the average council estate.
Oh and to top if off, she has posted a lovely thank you on the boards only minutes after I had left her. Little things like this make freecycle all worthwhile and show the true spirit of it.0 -
Here's another one:-
does anyone have an outboard they no longer use which would be suitable
for a small spedboat and that can be connected up to steering and lever

Maybe a wee bit?
I'm in need of reading some funnies in here - Natwest have said they intend to defend my claim and I've just co**ed up my MCOL claim against Cap One. I might have to hit the wine bottle....

I have recently joined freecycle after seeing many posts about it. My fiance is trying to move in by osmosis and fill up any gaps in the loft etc! As a consequence I need to clear my stuff and so I have decided to use freecylce as a way of doing this. Have only offered things so far, although tempted to ask for a wormery. I was amused however by a wanted tonight:
WANTED-vespa/lambretta I never thought of freecycle as a place to ask for such expensive items!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
