opps forgot on free 1881 census on ancestry
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=7572
Always look at the original dont just rely on the transcriptions done by Americans for the 1881 & outsourced to India & convicts for 1901.
The indexing on Ancestry isnt too good I prefer Find My Past but thats another subscription
I'm waiting for the washing machine, waiting for Skinny Cat to finish her food with her tablet in it & watching CBB so will start clearing pm box & post link etc in a bit0 -

The one and only time I had to call them about a fault I got the guy I signed up to TT through (Carphone Warehouse Manager) to do it for me (HC doesn't do phone calls very well) and he said that although he had dialled TT customer service to report the fault, it would be a BT engineer in a plain white van that would be out to do the repair.
I am with TalkTalk for both telephone and internet but for the last six months or so my internet connection has been unreliable, often no connection or very slow. Have called them several times and they test the line, can't find any fault and then connection is OK for a few weeks. Am so fed up with it now that am considering a different internet provider or fibre optic...would this make the connection more reliable?
My contract with TalkTalk has ended so they keep calling me to renew and offer me a cheaper rate but I keep stalling as reliability is more important than cost as my husband often works from home and needs internet.
Any advice would be appreciated..:):)Born to glitch0 -
thanks QPR
did warn tricia89 to double check transcription in pm and sent her a fair few links to get her going
as you say not always correct, i've reported a few correction myself that were very obvious not bothered with properly as perfectly readable.
so hate to pay for anything and rarely do.Always look at the original dont just rely on the transcriptions done by Americans for the 1881 & outsourced to India & convicts for 1901.

If the fault is in the line or the green box at the end of the street or even the exchange then I would think the fault would still be there regardless of who you go with, unless you go fibre, which is a totally different kettle of fish altogether. If the problem is your modem/router then getting another companies by switching to them should fix this. But unless you know this is actually the fault it's not worth going out and buying a new router.:(
Westies internet was playing up recently the way you have described but we put it down to the kids breaking up for the summer holidays. I think it's settled down now though so could just be one of those things.0
