Hello, I sneaked in at the tail end of last week when not many people were looking and on my first Saturday at home for ages I worked my way through last week's list.. I got to Wednesday and was shattered!
My kitchen doesn't need much attention tonight,so shiny! Technically I do have a downstairs loo but as I live in a bungalow it can wait 'til bathroom day. It's not cheating is it?!
I'm more excited than I should be about being at home in the daylight, it feels like I've bunked off work an hour early! Think I'm going to do the windows outside while I can..One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

ShirleyPark wrote: »There's a lot of people on here that work full time. Once you get started it begins to get a lot easier. I can get away with 30 mins max a day most days. Plus there are no jobs at the weekends, which is when I go my gardening, car washing etc, and if you don't have a spare room / kids room then you get friday off as well.
If it's all too daunting, then set a timer for 15 minutes and do as much as you can in 15 minutes (you'll be surprised). Each room comes around each week, so if you don't get to do everything on the list it's not a big deal. I also find that keeping on top of the kitchen stuff, ie washing up, dishwasher, wiping the worktops down each day means that the kitchen doesn't get too messy in a week.
Yeah, I'm trying to keep on top of the kitchen like that, and that's not so bad, although I need to find time to give the floor a proper clean. Haven't tackled the dining room yet either!
I have a spare bedroom AND a study as well as my bedroom, so I don't think I'm going to be getting Fridays off. If you haven't done something on one day do you just add it to the next? I have two weekdays when I'm at work all day and doing voluntary work in the evenings and there's only enough time to eat tea in between and go to bed afterwards0 -

Woo Hoo!
Just finished washing the floors so first day done.
I normally clean the lounge and bathroom on a Monday so these didn't get done today, but I did do the extra chores I wanted to do and so the ironing is up together and I found time to bake a new recipe batch of flapjacks....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

I tend to post my list at the beginning of the week and then a new one each day with the new days tasks and remove the ones that I've done, also appears to be what lots of other people do. That way if I get a chance I'll go back and do the things I've missed. If it's gets to sunday afternoon and there's still stuff on the list, then I just ignore it, life is too short, but I make sure that I do that task the following week. Often I do all the hoovering in one go rather than each room as it's listed.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
