Wow. Please forgive me if I offended you. Not my intention at all. I'm sure I do say please and thank you :). I'm always polite in the supermarket, and I don't think I offend people, certainly not on purpose. I'm just not sure why I'm being jumped upon for saying to another poster if you move someone's trolley its best to say excuse me and they usually don't mind. Out of all the petty unkind comments I've read on here it seem a bit weird that's the one you had palpitations over.

This thread has started to really upset me now :(. So sorry to anyone who was hurt or angered by my comments, I would never do that intentionally. (Kindness to stangers and forgiveness for minor errors also cost nothing).

You shouldn't be apologising for anything, l don't think your posts about saying 'excuse me' warranted the responses!

    Happy moneysaving all.

The thing that annoys me about the whole eating in supermarkets is when the parents give the kids a pack of grapes - I dunno why, but it always seems to be them! - to scoff on the way round and then when they come to weigh them, they're about half the price they should be. That's stealing.

I also dislike the people who deliberately block sections of the shop with their trolleys. Or those who fight to get into the reduced section - that tends to be in Asda mainly.

And those people who park in the parent and child or disabled parking spaces just so they don't have to walk 5 feet further! And my BIG pet hate are those who park on the road at the end of the parking spaces, just so they don't have to walk a few spaces further. It's NOT a parking space, it's the ROAD!

I really dislike Asda because it does always seem to be the chavvier mums screaming at their squad of children in my local one.

Sainsburys is my favourite of the big four, and Waitrose is the best thing since sliced bread :j

I hate it when people who think they are worth more than my child deliberately run their trolley into my 19 month old because they cant be bothered to look where they are going and wheel around her. Then they tut and shake their head as though im irrational for expecting an apology for them running into her.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I've found the opposite. You send them out with a list, they get to the supermarket and all of a sudden they think that they are the ultimate shopper and come home with some obscure brand of pickled herring that was only 20p a jar because it was on special offer. It doesn't seem to matter that no one in the household likes pickled herring. He's just delighted that he's got something so cheap and I've still not got the missing ingredients for dinner lol

Oh my gosh! If this truly is all you have to have a rant about you are indeed very lucky...what makes my blood boil are people who rant about things that really in the big scheme of things are very unimportant.....

I have 6 children, 4 teens a 4 year old and a toddler and I do let 4yr old sit in the trolley...why? because he is a very very lively child and he would be all over the place other wise and the baby needs the seat. With a toddler I don't have the time to chase him around the shop.

With that many mouths to feed I'm surprised you have room for a 'lively' toddler in the trolley.

What a nice person you are! I don't give them attitude in the least. It's already not easy to get round when you have to carry the entire weekly shop home by yourself. The last thing I need is loads of stuff in the way every time I try.

And I love how you assume my supermarket sells foie gras :p Or that I have the income to purchase it as part of my weekly shop :p

thank you I am actually & I was being facetious, the cages/flatbeds are placed in the middle of the isle so there is space either side for people to pass but sometimes a bit of patience is needed, you wont have any issue carrying your weeks shopping home if there is no stock on the shelf. :D

Supermarkets have trolleys with 2 seats available.

I know because I have used them for many years.

On the odd occasion I bump into a small person I always apologise to the child first and then the parent. I can't believe people dont!
