Kaspersky or free Antivirus

I am on a ninety day trial of Kaspersy and quite impressed with it. I usually use Avast, do folk think it is worth paying for Kaspersky and if so would they buy it direct or from eBay.

I have never bought any AV product. (I once had Norton - spit - but it came free with the PC I bought). I have always used a free AV. (I've tried Avast, AVG and Comodo over the years - Avast is my present choice).

I have never suffered from a virus attack or similar, and I'd not class myself as a paranoid surfer.

Make of that what you will. :)

I can't comment on the paid-for stuff but i'm happy with Malwere; Avasri and Ccleaner.

Avira free with the heuristics turned up full. Avast for the extra bells & whistles for the less techie-minded..

If you like Kaspersky then buy it. It is only £11 or so for a three machine licence on Amazon or the like.

AVG is really good and free...
  • It really depends on your internet usage; if you're just milling around the same old safe sites then I've always thought that free software is perfectly sufficient.

However, if you like Kaspersky and are quite happy to pay for it then why not - Kaspersky has had consistently good reviews over the years.

Open a Barclays bank account, put a small amount in and out occasionally to keep it active leaving only a couple of quid in there.

Register for online banking and get Kaspersky for free.

Total cost is in time and effort.

There is money saving and there is just plain cheapskate.... :rotfl:

Kaspersky Internet Security, 3-PC, 1 year Subscription £9.99

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus, 3-PC, 1 year Subscription £5.99

Use just the Product Key if already installed.

    If not;

    Kaspersky Internet Security 2012

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012

    YUP! That's me!

TBH I opened a Barclays account some 40 odd years ago. My wife and 2 DD also have accounts with them. Whilst DD's were at Uni or working away it was easy to instantly move money from the Bank of Dad.

The free AV is a plus.
