    I've been Money Tipped!
I told her I thought she should've stayed out of it. It was apparently the way I'd said it. Then it became my fault for upsetting her..........................................

Anyway, we've agreed to draw a line under it, and I said I was sorry the whole thing upset her so much.

    How did you say it?

You can tell the absolute truth BUT alot of the time it's how you deliver the message that *can* be hurtful and not the truth itself.

Sort of the difference between saying "you need to stop interfering" or "maybe it's best if you took a step back to give them some space to sort things out themselves". Both have the same meaning but the first can be received as being more judgemental.

Glad to hear that you've both agreed to draw a line under it, but, we all know that memories linger.... so, it may be worth just going over in your mind if you could have been a bit more 'sensitive' in telling your mum the truth. That might prevent another blow-up in the future.

Sometimes when it comes to saying things of this nature I think of something someone else said, I'd rather be happy than right.

Sometimes you can avoid saying anything, but I appreciate in this case you were getting the flack for what someone else had said.
