Yes they are giving differing stories to people. However, to overcome that problem you could simply put in 5k and that would certainly attract 3% until you have the DD's set up. Add the other 1k when you have the DD's set up. You have until 31 October to set up the DD's.

well one account has 5k and the other 6k - so will see what interest I get
Typically confused and asking for advice
  • On the summary tab one finds the interest rate for the LTSB account, 3% on balances up to £4999.99 it informs one. I rang LTSB this evening and told them I wished to have this limited Vantage offer of 4% on balances of £5000 to £6000. It was accepted and when I asked when it would 'come into force' was told immediately. Logged off then on again and looked again at summary of this account and it is not showing the new interest tier I was told is right now applicable to it. So I think a trip to the branch will be in order on Monday me thinks to make sure as I have right now made the balance up to £6000.

Nor will it show the new interest tier. It is not showing for anyone.

    - but dont get a statement with my esaver -

There is probably an online statement in your "e-documents". I think they do one every quarter for the e-saver. That's at least what I can see on my e-documents - one e-saver statements thrown in every quarter, amongst the current account statements.
  • I see people seem to have opened Tesco savings account to meet the DD criteria -- If you open multiple Tesco savings accounts, can these be access via one login on the Tescobank.com website?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

They will - for reasons only they know - not change the online display.

    Yes.......

Anyone know how much monthly interest you should get on the £6000 @4%?
Interest is earned on each day's closing balance at the gross p.a. rate...

    £6,000 x 3.93% / 365 x n x t

    where:

n = number of days in the period
    t = tax multiplier

So, assuming you're a tax payer and there are 30 days in the period...

    £6,000 x 3.93% / 365 x 30 x 0.8 = £15.50

can you set up the DD online with these accounts - just wondering if that is why everyone is using Tesco instead of Santander whose interest rate is higher?

Yes, unless the account needs more than one signature they can do it electronically from within your online area.

You can also download and print out a paper version to post to them (although quite why you'd want to do that I don't know!).

You can also call them on a freephone number like I did. :)
