New Lloyds Vantage current account

sorry if this is in the wrong thread
Just applied to open this account, logged into my Halifax account and it is showing there? Totally confused as to why - any one any ideas?
Lloyds TSB, BoS (with Vantage too), Halifax and subsidiaries (Birmingham Midshires etc.) are all part of the Lloyds Banking Group.
BoS accounts show up in Halifax online banking, and vice versa. Lloyds accounts don't, but seem to use exactly the same online banking platform. Someone more knowledgable than me will probably know much more about the intricacies of it all.0 -

Why would RBS show up in Halifax online banking?0 -

HBOS operates Bank of Scotland and Halifax and they use the same system. It was taken over by TSB, but the TSB brand is still different.0 -

RBS is not part of the Lloyds Banking Group - you are probably mixing it up with the Bank of Scotland (BoS) which is part of the LBG. BoS isn't "royal" but RBS is. Small but important difference.0 -
Thanks both for explainations.
Needing to find somewhere to put monies from FD and N&P Reg savers, also 2 5% santander that finnished last month. Applied for Nationwides new account but as not sure how many of these they would allow thought the 3% Vantage would be useful.
Still not used this years ISA - but rates just not worth bothering with (need to find somewhere to move last years shortly - so keeping fingers crossed something good will come up soon.Typically confused and asking for advice0 -

Thanks for pointing out the error - have corrected it. I mistakenly copied "RBS" from Vixen's post title (assuming s/he meant BoS Vantage- as thats obviously what shows up in Halifax)0 -
You can open 3 BoS accounts, 1 every 24 hours. Then transfer 1K into the Halifax account and transfer between each BoS account before its onward journey. Its nice to have them under one roof rather than having to use faster payments and £35/month0

Opps sorry if I confused things
so BOS is with Lloyds and Halifax and RBS is something totally different then?
And my new account will be with BOS - does RBS offer anything worth having?Typically confused and asking for advice0 -

Apologies if this seems like a silly question:
We currently have a standard Lloyds Classic account (downgraded from a packaged account some time ago, as we didn't think it was worth it).
Until recently, it wasn't always in credit, but now it is, and we should be able to keep it that way. There is more than £1000 going in each month.
My question is: is there any reason not to upgrade this to a Vantage Classic? I mean, are there any catches?
Obviously, if we go overdrawn, we will not get the interest advantage, and we will also pay an overdraft fee (as we did with the standard classic), as well as interest, but would there be any additional penalties for not staying in credit, specific to the Vantage account? (We definitely intend to stay in credit, I should add, but I just want to check before we apply to upgrade it.
Thank you in advance.0
