I doubt Lloyds will cut the 3% rate whilst banks like Santander retain theirs, and Nationwide is rumoured to offer a 3% account.

For sure the 1% bonus expires in October.

In October the rate changes from 4% to 3%, so unless the economy improves it might still be a decent place to stash some cash.

Agree, but don't forget that the 3% is up to max £5K only, not £6K (like the 4% offer is)

Nothing to be concerned about just now though - let's worry about it come October
  • I already have 3 x BoS, but if LTSB is still 3% AER on £3-5K (and I don't for one minute think it will be) then £15K of the £18K will stay with them.
How are you finding the BoS accounts. Easy to use? Good online access? The 4% on £6K expires on 31st October 2013. I presume that the 3% on £5K offer will finish too this year, I would be very surprised if they keep it.

Are you sure it finishes in October as I thought that was just the 4% Vantage account. The 3% Vantage account as far as I know does not have an end date
The 4% finishes October 31st. I presumed that the 3% would also likely expire, if it doesnt - I would be very surprised if they kept the same interest rate.

I think I will pick Santander 123 account before opening Lloyds Classic Vantage (If its still 3x3% on £5K). Would rather have more money (£22K as opposed to £15K max) getting the same interest in one big account, rather than 3 separate ones. Not to mention the cashback they do on bills.

Seems like the only ones considering so far, is BoS £5K at 3%, Lloyds 3% at £5k (if its still going) and Santander 123. Wish FD still had their 8% regular saver going still :/, regret not getting onto that sooner.

Never used BoS online access as the accounts appear when I login to my Halifax account, so when I FP the 1K into my reward account, its just an internal transfer between the 3 BoS accounts and then into my Halifax Online Saver.

Why are you upset or surprised? You are only allowed 3. You could have always set one (or three) up in your partners name I guess. Probably immoral or illegal, but then doesn't that sum up every bank and banker?

Did you give them an opportunity?...a branch visit/phone call on an unrelated matter perhaps? Or do you think it was done by the people/systems at 'Head Office'?

Did I say I was upset or surprised? I am ..................... cool

FYI: We set up Vantage accounts for my wife and I long before they introduced the maximum 3 vantage accounts rule. They allowed us to upgrade four of those for my wife and three for me to 4%. Not immoral or illegal.

We had to contact them. Very strange, last month we received 4% on £6,000 for two accounts and 3% on £6,000 for the other two.

Do you have two DDs running and £1000 in every month?
