Just to clarify, that (very strange) article was written before we won another 5 medals, two of which are gold.
Which is why she shouldn't have spouted her mouth off
Perhaps they could be persuaded to write another piece along the same lines? It seemed to do the trick last time :T

At the time the OP posted this, GB were actually 11th on the medal table.

He obviously doesn't watch any of it or he'd know how well the team did yesterday.

I thought the same when I first read it, but I think the OP was laughing at the article rather than agreeing with it...

Don't you think that the OP is simply taking the p*ss out of the article, and knows exactly what happened yesterday, hence his :rotfl: at the end? That is how I read his post.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

Ahh you beat me to it by a minute, guess I'll have to settle for the silver then.

Sorry if that's the case. I thought it was the OP's own words and opinions because he didn't
    ''quote''
    them. :o

It's a sad day when the Olympics becomes about medal top trumps.

What next? Adopt a communist block approach and pluck thousands of youngsters from their families whisking them away to sports camps?

It's nice to see the home country win medals obviously. But it's also great to hear a human interest story where the Unpronounceable Isles win their first ever medal in Archery or something. It's also thrilling to see a race to the line, success by fractions of an inch.

China winning every diving Gold going for yet another games leaves me cold. We might as well save them the bus fare, and post the medal out to them. It'd save a bit of viewing air time.

I was at the Archery yesterday morning and one of the loudest cheers (apart from the GB entrant) was the competitor from Bhutan who was up against the USA archer. That was pretty good.

Threads like this really p*** me off.
Just to be able to make the Olympic team is a huge achievment.
What people like the OP do not see is the 1000's of hours in training, the getting up early in the morning when it is dark wet and cold, the eating right, going to bed at the right time, the total sacrifice you have to make. And then after all that work, it is still sometimes not enough to get you into the team.

To make an Olympic final in any of the events is outstanding. If the young just picked up on 10% of what these people have to go through, and cherished their bodies and minds like these people do, we would probably halve the NHS budget in years to come, and have far more happy individuals who value things.

Just as a silly little example from myself, I am training for an sprint triathlon(for chubby older guys). I have been on a strict diet as I need to take 10lb in weight off. But on the odd occasion I have a treat, this weekend it was a pizza with a can of tuna on it and a whole tin of anchovies with a coke. After sticking to what I think of is hard training, BOY!! did that pizza taste good.

I am massively proud of EVERY single person that wears the GB top, and when any one of them has managed to get in the top three I don't think my eyes have not watered up once yet.

I cannot imagine the strength in character the Olympians need, I am in awe of them.
