Know how you feel OP, lost my mom in my late teens miss her everyday and feel robbed that I never had alot of time with her. Lost my dad my best mate 10 years ago, still miss them both everyday but as long as you think of them they are never gone.0

Heartbreak I did think of that but my mum hates any attention she is very shy & just being MOTB is pushing it for her so I couldn't put her through that. She would love to do it if I asked her but I know she would get stressed

I know just what you mean I was sobbing by the end (loads of their vids get me though) It got my SIL too as she lost her dad. However I love the words so it is a STRONG contender for my first dance song.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Awww please let me know if you do use it, it's so beautiful
and totally understand with your mum - but I bet she will be so proud watching you marry!
Do you have a token of your dad's you could carry? My dad had a huge tie collection - nearly 200 by the time he died! - me and my mum kept a select few and gave away the rest to friend and family...I kept a very sickly yellow one that he used to wear because we hated it, and that will be wrapped around the handle of my bouquet. He would approve and have a giggle!

I will do hun I'm a huge Nickelback fan and so is my mum. It's an on running tradition that OH buys our tickets to keep the peace. He has even had to join the fan club twice lol so it will tie it in well. The othe choice is Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls but a cover of it by another band.
I'll have to ask my mum if she has anything like that. My brother has his jewellery. I got his records. We are having a police phone book for our postbox most people will think it's cause OH loves Dr Who but my dad was also a policeman so only family will get the reference.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Just 7 months since may Dad died . .
Still think about him everyday and ask for help and advice . .
He always said he wanted 'Bat out of Hell' at his funeral and so we obliged . .although ill his death was unexpected so the words 'breaking outta my body and flying away' especially apt.
Love you Dad x0 -
To all the posters on this thread, it is a tribute to all the special people that we have loved and who are now longer with us that we miss them so much. Now matter how long ago or recently our loved ones passed there is nothing wrong or unusual with sometimes missing them as if it only just happened. In my experience time does not heal but simply helps you get on with your life afterwards. Take care all.0

Yes, been thinking of my Dad too during these Olympics as we would have been watching much of it together.
He died 18 months ago, very suddenly, though a ripe old age of 87.
We weren't very close until his last few years after my mother died just before the Beijing Olympics. He didn't have many hobbies but watching sport was something he enjoyed, and the 'Limpix' gave us something to focus on and talk about during that very difficult summer of 2008.
This time I feel as though I'm watching it all 'for' him, in some strange way, now that he's not here.
Crying as I type that. Bless you Dad. Miss you.0 -
