I miss my Dad

I know that feeling well, it will be 16 years this month and at times it feels like it was just last week. He was 49, I was 19, so I've missed having that someone to talk to and to go to for advice throughout my adult years.0

It really is an honour to have had a good father.
There are so many scumbags out there creating kids without the slightest intention of being there for them, paying for them, caring for them, supporting them, teaching them right from wrong and just loving them.
I loved, respected and admired my father tremendously and I'm proud to say I was his daughter. And if you have a father like he was, you are so very fortunate.0 -

Big hugs OP and to posters who have lost their dads too X
I lost my dad almost 6 years ago and every day something happens that I wish I could tell him about. I wish so much he had been here to meet my youngest 2 children, but I am grateful he had 6 months with my eldest child, he was a fantastic grandad.
I try and keep him alive in all our hearts by telling my children all about their special grandad who lives in the sky, that way they will never forget him.
No one will ever replace him, but remembering him and talking about him makes it feel like a little piece of him is still here x0 -
            Hugs OP
I lost my Dad 3 yrs this July gone. Theres not a day that goes by that i dont think about him. One of the things i miss most is just talking to him. Theres not a thing i wouldnt do to just have one more day.
And for me, it doesnt matter how much anyone says that he is still with me, I miss the conversations and i miss his voice
Hugs to you xx£2 Savers Club #156!

Hugs to those who have lost their dads and moms!
I lost my dad very suddenly 25 years ago when I was 15 and away at boarding school! My dad and I had so much in common and spent so many happy hours together when I was younger.
I wish so much he had got to know my kids as he would have just adored them!
My mom passed away 4 months ago after a long illness, she lived in another country and I live with regret so often, that I did not phone her more often or even see her more than I did but it was circumstances beyond my control that I could not see her. I feel really sad that my kids are also growing up with no grand parents as my ex husbands parents live in New Zealand.
I'm also an only child and there have been times recently when I have felt very alone! So many things have happened and I wish I could just pick up the phone and chat to my mom, she would know the answers and give me the advice I so need!
What also makes me so cross is when people do have their parents around and they don't appreciate that! I've got friends who are always putting their parents down and complaining about them! They should just be grateful they are still there!0 -
Reading with tears in my eyes, too...I lost my Dad very suddenly 11 years ago, and I miss him every day. I would give anything to be able to turn back the clock and have some more time with him. If your Dad is still alive, even if he irritates the heck out of you, tell him you love him and give him a hug...one day, you will appreciate itIs that a light I see at the end of the tunnel?;)0
