Contract Question - Vodafone ending Mobile TV
Comments

We don't know what the OP's agreement actually says, and there is no any definition of 'optional' in the T&C.Doesn't cover 'optional' services which are additional services.
Yes - only if the OP has really unlimited data allowance included. The OP can still get streaming tv by using an app. Mobile TV is a service that customer can cancel at any time - and the agreement covers that - so you cannot cancel contract.
I did spend a couple of minutes trying to understand what this clause means. It makes no sense to me. E.g. I can cancel data (ask them to switch data off on their side) and keep paying standard monthly rate. They will not end the agreement. However, if they decide to withdraw data I have right to terminate without penalties. This does not apply if the change or withdrawal relates to services which you can cancel without us ending this agreement.0 -

Data is usually paid as part of the contract or as an add-on.
If it was an add-on and you cancel it, you won't pay for it unless its a requirement to have at least one add-on (like t-mobile do for example) in which case you always pay for one addon as part of contract.
And in this case its not about data, its an additional service, no doubt some form of app which they have chosen to do away with as there multiple other options - free apps to use to get tv.0 -
Buzby said this, then the Rep. Now you. IMO it's just words, nothing more.... its an additional service,
Apps are free. TV is not. If TV was free with the service that they are pulling, this makes a big difference.no doubt some form of app which they have chosen to do away with as there multiple other options - free apps to use to get tv.0 -

In that case read the Mobile TV terms
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/about-this-site/terms-and-conditions/products-and-services/mobile-tv/index.htm
specifically
Vodafone may vary, replace or withdraw programmes, channels or content without notice.

In fact they are withdrawing the entire service, not some programme, channel or content.0

How does that apply when it is part of a price plan?0 -

Depends on what you mean by "part of a price plan".
If its an optional package as I think, then its a free add-in or a paid for add-in which can be removed. If its free, then you will see no reduction in your price plan, if its a paid for add-in - then you should expect the extra add-in charge to be removed from your bill.
If its part of your contract price plan - then you would have right to quibble but I don't think that is the case.
The fact that there are two different terms and conditions for your price plan and mobile tv would suggest they are two different things - one of which vodafone have decided to discontinue as per t&c.0 -
Generally it is an add on but as I said it is part of my contract plan.
Still waiting for 2 calls I've been promised by agents and no response from last complaint email. Having read around i don't think they cover themselves in glory with their complaints handling0 -
Hi dobba,
I will be happy to look into this further for you and discuss it in more detail.
You have mentioned that you have emailed in previously, do you have your email reference number? If so, I can find the previous email chain and get in touch.
