cancelled BT Broadband - is this right ?

update its now 11.23 ive just phoned bt again for my mac code

they've just told me i do need my mac code now and have put me through to another department to see if there's any thing they can do to persuade me to stay with them .... ill update u soon

im very hungry and mentally drained

... if you actually told BT to cancel the account - then you cannot get a MAC - cancelling would imply a full cease, which removes broadband off your line

no other broadband company will be able to sign you up until the cease has gone through and your line is clear - this normally takes 2 weeks

did you actually try using a non-BT supplied modem?


if you were using a business broadband connection - then maybe you could do something - but since it appears you are using a home connection, technically you would be breaking their terms and conditions - which means BT would give you nothing

right i've just spoke to another bt person .... who i was just put through to he now tells me i need to goto cancellations to do this .... the time is now 11.36 and i've been on the phone now for 35 minutes

...either your watch is 6 minutes slow, or the time in the forum is 6 minutes fast...

... besides... how did you get from 11.31 being 28 minutes, to 11.36 being 35 minutes... in my book that should be 33 minutes...

but do we really need a running commentry...

.... i have a mac code now after 6 hours on the phone to bt

i promise i wont post any more .... untill i get my bill anyway see if they still try and charge me

lol i think the difference in time was due to how long i took me to type my message once again apologies for the commentary ... im special i have a low post count

.... the difference could also be i was reading the time off my mobile and the call time off my bt house phone ... probably faulty too
