are you not having BB at all then, as if you were just moving supplier's you usually ask them for a MAC key/code then let your supplier's do all the work, it sounds to me like your cancelling altogether and not having BB.
also you have to give 30 days notice regardless of how long you have been with them

computerwoman - yea i cancelled all in,. gone to cable so didnt need the mac code, ill see what happens on monday then,. as it should be cut off,
loulou41 - its 150 then go thru the options,. i think its 2 and 2 then they put u thru to the team that sorts out cheaper BB i order to get u to stay,.0 -
if you haven't got bt phone like me, then it's 0800 800 150 as I am with primus for my calls this is the number I use as if I just ring 150 I then get charged for a bt wholesale number 0845, so think before you ring, then just go through the options for BB then ask to get compo for the hours of not getting anywhere with them, some people are lucky and some not, you may get something knocked off, or not, it just depends who you talk to.

I've just cancelled my BT account ....
My sales call took 2 seconds to connect, once id ordered bt broadband they sent me the home hub out, which took 1 week and arrived on time ... i plugged it in and everything worked for an hour, the power supply had blown, after another long call to technical support (maybe 45 minutes) id got ABSOLUTLY NO WHERE, so i put the phone down before i got annoyed.
Next I phoned to cancel my account and the woman i spoke to was very understanding, she ordered me a new router and I had it delivered yesterday.
This worked for maybe 4/5 hrs .... so another phone call to technical support got me no where .... so I asked to be put through to their cancellation department .... to which i was put on hold again ..... annoyed again i put the phone down and rang the cancellation department and asked to cancel my account ..... to which the lady replied 'your account has already been cancelled', I HADNT THO ... she explained id need to pay my contract in full !!! which for the tiny amount of service they'd provided id have to pay (12 x 22.99) absolutly OUTRAGEOUS .... so i asked to be put through to customer services to ask to get the charges cancelled ...... which they did.
And i've also asked them to send me a letter confirming that i wont be charged.
So .... All in All .... 2 weeks without broadband still without broadband .... maybe 6/7 hrs of my life wasted on the phone to bt, and 2 days of my time wasted staying in waiting for the routers to arrive .....
Can i sue them for loss of earnings .... as im a web designer and its cost me so much time, trouble and money !!!0 -
im just going to try n get my MAC address .... lol wonder how long this'll take0
-
what a surprise you cant apparently get your mac address unless i have an active bt broadband account !!!!!! .... ive just been asked for my MAC address from my new provider ? ..... this smells fishy ..... somthing tells me i shouldnt sign up to another before i get this letter from bt
btw .... i've been on the phone to them since 7.30 and its now 10.450 -
just come off the phone to tiscali they say i need a mac address to transfer regardless ?
!!!!!! the have to give me one within 5 days ...
looks like another call to bt
apologies for all the posts just keeping a written log of my wasted time0 -
update
.... bt just called me back regarding my technical support call this morning ... lol .... this is stupid .... and the time is 11.030
