Someone recently told me that if you pull the linkage off both sides and turn it around top to bottom. Then push it back on. It will stay on, because the wear is on a different part. This should last a fair while.0

We have this problem with our Mk1 MR2s and have found that laying a choccy bar wrapper (Snickers type) over the ball joint bafore pushing it back together is a good fix. They are nylon sockets over metal balls, it may work if yours are similar construction. Otherwise a good excuse for a choccy bar. :rotfl:0

If you can't afford the new part (have you checked ebay?), then grab yourself some Rain-X..... With this stuff on the windscreen you won't need wipers at all unless the rain get REALLY heavy, one application lasts a few weeks, should give you enough time to get it fixed properly.

Mine (Punto) went in 2001, the AA man did a temporary fix on it ... and that lasted until 2010. Then I had to have the unit replaced, no temporary fix would have worked by this stage... £150 for the part I think, 1 hour's labour.0
