Thank you for such an inspirational post.....:T
I have to go into M&S today to return a top & I KNOW the sales are on & I KNOW that I'm going to be soooo tempted so I'm going to remember what you've said & hopefully I will save some money too0 -
That is such willpower, and such inspiration for me! Well done on not buying one item, let alone all of them!
I've had March as a non-supermarket month, which to me includes M&S and so I've not even looked in the clothes section this month, so I've hopefully missed all the 'bargains' in the sales!

Well done you!
I resisted buying something last week that I really wanted and I felt so pleased with myself because I didn't buy it.
I haven't been in to M&S recently but I had an email from them advertising their sale and so far I haven't been tempted to look at the bargains online.I don't need any more clothes, although that has never stopped me before lol,but I am feeling strong at the moment because I am doing the Lent challenge on the DFW board.0 -
that's brilliant! I'm pretending that there aren't any sales on anywhere, it's not a bargain if you don't need it and would never have bought it if it wasn't on sale!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

You should be proud of yourself, in fact I would say you deserve a treat!

Wanna know my secret to a new wardrobe? Get together with all your buddies, have a mega big wardrobe, smellies, and make up clear out, and invite the girls round (make them bring a bottle too) pile it up all the stuff in the lounge, and have a good old rummage!!!
My friends and I do this quite a bit, helps if you are all the same size and have similar taste!
(normally I wouldn't condone swapping make up, but the ocassional blusher swap can't hurt, just be v careful with mascara, eyeliner and lippy)

I went into Tesco recently with a short list that should have come to no more than £15... however, I had to walk past the special buys £1 section, and the clothes section, and I am such a muppet and even though I used to work in marketing and I KNOW what they are doing to me, I loaded up my trolley with so many bargains that the total came to £72... so I put it all back into the trolley (except the firelighters and milk that were my absolute necessities) and asked the nice lady at the till if she could refund it and get someone to take the trolley away! I also explained that I had been very naughty and that I wasn't allowed to buy things that weren't on my list and that if I did it again they could give me a good telling off.
Result - 2 very bemused shop assistants and a cash purchase instead of a debit card purchase that would have driven a huge hole in my balance! Is it home time yet?0 -
soooo clever... I'm proud of you x0

I went to M&S the other day, bought £88 worth of stuff for £38.50. The best bit was, I paid with £39 worth of vouchers which I got for free, and got 50p change :j
So I paid £0.00 for 2 shirts, 3 t-shirts and a pair of jeans and a shiny 50p.

Jantemum if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have known M&S had a sale on, so I blame you, or maybe myself for having no willpower. But I did only buy one pair of trousers reduced from £35 to £5 I decided to treat myself as I have lost a whole dress size from cycling every day since january.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
