No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in August!

Completely OT, but so excited this morning Grand-daughter has just phoned to say she has been accepted for her first choice university, she is on cloud 9.
Back on topic, I have packed all small sizes and part used items for my holiday so hoping for lots of UU's, off in about an hour or so, catch up with you all from time to time, have to make pc batteries last almost 2 weeks as will have no mains electricity this time. Last time away we had electric, but absolutely no signal on Orange mobile internet. I need to save up for a smart phone I think, but how do you choose one, it all looks so complicated:eek:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Hi everyone, in response to whoever said I could spend my points on sunglasses or perfume, I only have 3 perfumes and I like stocking up at Duty Free
and as for sunglasses, I couldn't have an expensive pair because I always end up losing/breaking them!
Have 12 empties to Back 2 Mac but want to use up some of my lip products first before I get a couple of new lipsticks! I find lip products are the one area of my stash that I neglect really because I can't be bothered to re-apply throughout the day. No one else in the office does and I don't want people to think I'm strange!
Have an update on the L'Oreal Exfotonic/Garnier Sugar Scrub debate, they are equally as scrubby which I like but I prefer the Exfotonic because it makes my skin glow from the AHA in it! Will persevere with the Garnier for the time being but have realised that the L'Oreal is DEFINITELY a HG!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I neglected all my forums whilst the Olympics was on, but at least I've got some UU's and Non Bought In's (NBI's) to report.
UU's
L'Oreal Everpure Shampoo & Conditioner. These were a freebie from FB - full size samples. WIBA? Most certainly, once my giant bottles of L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore shampoo and conditioner have been used up. With my hair length and texture, this may be some time.
Everpure is a lovely set of products, smells pleasant and really cleans/conditions but without using sulphates. By far the cheapest sulphate free products that I am aware of, and very effective too.
Avon Chocolate Truffle Body Souffle 200 ml
WIBA? No, not this one. For a souffle, it did take quite a bit of rubbing in, and it transferred readily to clothing as a result. I forgot the lesson I learned with the OS Choc. Mint shower cream, which is that chocolate is not a good aroma for anything other than lip balm. Having the bathroom smelling like Th*rnton's at 7 am is just a bit wrong in my book. Not only that, but being mid brown it left coloured streaks and made my skin look dirty.. it also has a golden shimmer to it, which is nice, until you realise it gives this sheen to absolutely everything it touches.
If I hadn't worked from home I would have had to change my clothing after getting dressed more than once, particularly black tops and trousers which were instantly marked.
200 ml Trial Shower Gel - believe the initials to be IL, marine variety.
WIB? Yes, if and when it's on offer, I refuse to pay full price for something that always seems to be on offer somewhere. This has the advantage of appealing to all members of the family, a vaguely citrussy 'pink grapefruit' smell, not very marine-ish, but produces lashes of lovely moisturising lather.
Non Bought Ins A Syringa Za cleansing bar, this must have been a FB freebie. C. 75g of top quality product, will replace D*ve for a while.
Everpure samples 10 ml sachets - not the variety I've just finished tho.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... UU
MOA Green Balm, 15ml - WMBA if cheap as i got sunburnt at the start of the week and this has been a godsend but tbh it doesn't do anything more than vaseline!
IN
Darphin Ideal Resource Radiance Cream, 1.5mlTotal debts = [STRIKE]£3116[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]2216[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2066[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1916[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1766[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1616[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1466[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1316[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1166[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1016[/STRIKE]£866
DMP £150 each month
Total paid off so far £2150

Just spotted Maddie's DGD success! Well done...
Quite a few of us have a thing with herbal teabags, mine is much better than it was, though.
My cleaner (a necessity, not a luxury) likes specialist products so I have quite a collection of those. I agree about shower shine being useless btw.
After Asset's bad insurance experience, I shall share a good one. When I bought my cooker 20 months ago I bought separate insurance cover. I thought it just covered the glass hob, but when I rang up to enquire yesterday after a pan boiled over and 'something' blew, I found I was covered for breakdowns too. Yippee! Repair guy was here at 8.45, took him ages to find the fault and isolate it, but find it he did, and replaced the something, I now have a fully-functioning cooker again.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... afternoon ladies,
some uu's: Umberto Giannini volumising mousse (purple tin) wnba - was not remotely volumising, I much prefer their backcomb in a bottle range
No 7 protect & perfect intense serum - a little 5ml gwp sample - again wnba as prefer others, this one seemed very thick in consistency
uu Clarins eau dynamisante body lotion - love the scent of this and although it's a very light consistency it's also very moisturising, have another one in the stash that was part of a Christmas present. 17 more body butters/lotions to go!!!
TA -l'oreal sublime bronze spray tan - this is by far the streakiest self tanner I have ever used, perhaps there is a knack to using this that I haven't mastered but not willing to persist with it to find out
need to confess to an in - bought Marie Claire and got the murad cleanser with it - am completely weak regarding magazine freebies - so much so that before I went to buy the mag my OH asked 'why what's free with it this time?'
welcome newbies
