Buyer claimed damaged then fake

Evening all
I am not an experienced Ebayer. I sold a bag which I sent via Special Delivery, my advert said 1st class but as it sold for over £60 I sent via Special Delivery to make sure I was protected.
Over 2 and half weeks later the buyer emailed to say it was damaged. I know it wasn't but asked them to take a photo and email it. They didn't reply and I assumed that it was over.
Today they have opened a dispute saying it is fake. It is not and I know it is not but what do I do to prove this?
It was a used bag and I no longer have the receipt some 3 years later but I don't know how to reply to this.
They are saying they don't have to return it and I have to refund them - is this correct?

If the buyer wants a refund the item needs to be returned to you first.
How long ago was the sale?

Is it a PayPal or eBay dispute?0
-
It's in my Ebay console but the paid with paypal.
They bought and paid on 27th June.0 -
You say you don't have the receipt, but with a bag like that did you pay by card? If so that will act as proof of purchase if you can find the relevant statement. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

If it's an eBay dispute the onus is on you to prove it is authentic.
If it's a PayPal dispute the buyer has to prove it is fake.
So, it's significant, which is it?0 -
Probably - it's only a work bag - nothing major that I would have kept the receipt for.
I couldn't even tell you the month and I shop so often it would be hard to pin point. It is a plain black Radley work/breifcase style bag - not a designer bag. That is why I am puzzled they are saying it is fake.
Can I demand they return it? And who pays for the return?0 -

Radley? So they are saying it isn't authentic?
You will need to prove it is. Or eBay may ask the buyer to dispose of it and meanwhile they will refund your payment, including postage.
Do you have anything to suggest it is bonafide?0 -
yes very bizarely they are saying it isn't authentic - this isn't a picture bag just a bog standard black work bag.
Nothing I can give to suggest it is bonafide (unless they can send a picture of why and I can dispute it - as I have loads of similar bags and same one in red). I buy all my bags at either Debenhams or Fenwicks so I know they are genuine and who would fake a basic black bag?
I have sold a few bags (mostly more designer) and shoes including ClB and have never had this issue before, surely Ebay can see that I only sell genuine items.
She first said the zip was broken and the inside was stained - but wouldn't send photos (this was via email) - today this dispute was the first I have heard. It simply says
"I bought this fake bag and the seller is not replying"
That isn't true - it isn't fake nor have they ever asked before.0 -
They will have to return it, so just let the dispute run it's course. deny it's fake and they may even do a no fault refund where you get to keep the money and the seller gets a refund anyway.0
