Yes, I know what you mean. You might be right depending on which way the courts view it (not that I expect it to go that far).

The traditional distinctions between slander - usually spoken, verbal, short lived - and libel - written down and more permanent - are not always applied to internet forums.

Slander, libel and "internet slander" are still intermixing in strange ways.

This may explain to save me repeating my thoughts ...

Whichever way you view it Flyboy152's comments I referred to were wholly untrue, inaccurate, accusative and defamatory so, in the end, it's the same effect.

By the way it is extremely doubtful I am young enough to be your "son"! ;)
  • Some will just reply for the sake of replying so just ignore him.
Then one or 2 others will jump on the bandwagon, it will go on and on from there.
If you keep replying, it'll just bring others out the woodwork, picking holes in everything you put up. The sites full of them.

Dont rise to the bait or try to justify yourself.

A bit harssh there, here's an alternative: "the guy has explained himself so why keep having a go?" type poster.

I admit, the wording of the initial post wasn't great and I was sceptical but replied with advice despite that. It's known as giving someone the benefit of the doubt.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

I didnt think there was anything to agree or disagree about.

OP asks a question, gets some good answers, then gets assumptions and opinions.

Having seen this happen before, I thought I would offer the OP some advice on the situation now developing.
