Monnagran I'm surprised the PDSA were so unhelpful - but I don't really have any direct knowledge.

I was just thinking back, when I uses to live near Bicester, there was a guy who sold The Big Issue in the town centre who had a lovely little dog named Marmite. When my lovely Penny-Dog passed away, I took all her treats and food that was in the cupboard and gave it to him for Marmite to enjoy.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Having stressed out publicly here a few days ago, I wanted to share the good news too............in short the problem is that my disabled son's adult placement has broken down, he must move by the end of August and the bungalow we wanted to rent for him with a Housing Association fell through. Major panic as his current home took 4 months to find and settle.
Thanks to some really fabulous work by his care provider we have arranged an emergency back up residence should he end up 'homeless' at the end of August. That was late last week, then on Saturday his care providers and I went to see another possible place for him to rent. It will be fine for him and the Estate Agent has worked with his care provider before and knows how supported living works. It's not guaranteed to work out, but sounds hopeful at the moment and at least now we have a really good back up plan in place. SO this weekend I did a lot of catching up on sleep. It has been so stressful for all sorts of other reasons as well as this since mid-May I thought I was going to lose my sanity! Now I am feeling so much more like my normal self!
Have caught up with the ironing, done some gardening, been to the gym and done a food shop today. Now cooking a turkey curry for dinner and actually feeling hungry again!

So huge hugs to all those struggling, hang on in there, you will survive and emerge (maybe changed) but intact.

Well today we had a marathon Monopoly game from 0.9.30 until 1.00 then a break for lunch then I took the three youngest ones to the park to run off some energy total outlay today = zilch.Took a large bottle of very cold squash with us this afternoon.Plus some of yesterdays traybakes .I also made Tapladys recipe lemon drizzle cake (but I used orange instead) it was gorgeous, still quite a bit left in my cake box.
Tomorrow its supposed to rain so we may have to find a movie on t.v. to watch in the afternoon. Not too sure what on in the morning but they are always keen on a game of cards I'm all 'monopolied out':):):)

Thanks one and all for your helpful comments

Red Ruby: I never thought about Dogs Trust, I'll see if there is one on the Island. I know they are brilliant with their animals.

Butterfly Brain: Thanks. The RSPCA were very helpful. I rang the owner of the dog this evening but no reply so I'll try again tomorrow.

LW: Treats for Marmite. That's just the sort of thing you would do. You old softie!

nlj: What a relief for you. I admire any parent with a disabled child, you are really living two people's lives with triple the problems. I have an autistic grandson. He is only 10 but we are already trying to set into motion things to make life easier for him when he becomes an adult. I can't see him ever living independently and unfortunately his parents are no longer together, but my son is preparing to look after him for as long as is needed. I hope your plans for your son work out well and give you a bit of breathing space.

    Night all.

Late post as I'm struggling tonight. Trying to get comfortable is proving impossible. SPD is awful today. The pain from that alone is making me irritable. Not to mention I need to be fairly upright as I am wheezing like s 60 a day smoker thanks to this stinking cojd. Then my stinking mood and general lack of sleep... I'm feeling ready tivbe put down...
