Hi all
Had a massive clear out yesterday and cleared out 5, yes 5 bin liners full of old clothes for the local church jumble - I also ended up with about 10 loads of washing, which have now been sorted and ironed. !Its not that i,ve been a lazy moo, its stuff that was put in the loft and needed freshening up.
Don,t you just love it when your long weekend is when your tied to the WM and iron.
Am going to do some baking now for the weeks snacks, muffins and biscuits, and a shep pie for dinner.
Hope your all well havn,t had a chance to read back as yet.
Have a fab day xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Morning all,
Gosh it's busy on here today! I can't remember all the things I wanted to say but Congratulation NMP fingers crossed.
Sorry to hear about the poorlie dads ((hugs))
Halight glad the job centre went ok
Feeling a bit fed up this morning. Life is just hard sometimes. Still no house sale and the mortgage company tell me the mortgage payment would go up by about 300 pounds a month if we rented it out. We really don't know what to do for the best.
On top of that DH has just phoned to say the car has broke down. Now that we only have one car I can't go and rescue him, god knows how much it will cost to get it towed back. It never rains but it pours:(
Anyway enough moaning. Have walked to the bank and back this morning, a good hours walk so feeling virtuous. Hopefully it will help with my weigh in tomorrow.
Quite a few things selling on ebay and will list some more tomorrow.
Just going to have a brew and read my magazine. Really enjoyed seeing DD and DGS yesterday and we managed to Skype her brothers as well. So nice to have all the family together for an hour.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Got my letters posted and when I got home my copy of Keepers at Home magazine had arrived as had the Homesteading for Beginners DVDs from America! I will enjoy watching them even if they aren't all that practical.
My main struggle is that I live at home with my parents and brother (I work full time outside the house but do maybe 20-30 hours caring too) and no one else is interested in all the frugal stuff or making stuff by hand. The main comment is "what is the point when you can buy xyz at the supermarket" so I don't have much space at all in the house or garden.
Trying to do what I can as I love all the country skills stuff. Planning a couple of raised beds in the garden (I have a bit of space about 6 feet by 8 feet) and I really want it raised up as it flooded not long ago and upset my plants.
Planning on getting all my jobs done so I can sit down with my magazine!
Plus there is a programme on about the Amish on Thursday so I have set that to record.0 -
Evening all
Happy birthday Anniestar, hope you have a fab day x
NPM - congrats
Adelight - what are you studying with the OU?
((((hugs))) to anyone else who wants one
Today flew by. I spent the morning teaching ICT to my colleagues work kids, went out for lunch with the girls from work, and then went shopping for some bits we needed for rest of week.
It's been sunny but windy all day, but now the rain has just started. Think it's set to rain all week
OS wise - dishes to wash, don't think I'll have tea as I'm stuffed from lunch :rotfl:, bins put out.
Have a good evening all

Hi all.
I'm on a winner today. Two of my lads from the Drop-in turned up this morning to help uncover my back garden. All they needed was frequent injections of tea, coffee and HM biscuits and they dug and weeded and did in a couple of hours what it would have taken me days to do. One of them said that it was lovely to get up in the morning and know he had something to do. They are coming back later in the week to do some more.
Jacket potatoes for lunch and I fancy a boiled egg and soldiers for tea. The rev has half a Kebab in the fridge that she says she will have YUK.
mucky moo: LOVED the cartoon, just appealed to me. As for banks.....(everybody together now)...BOOOOO! I applied for a very small, short loan to pay for removals and other expenses when buying and selling my house. A girl who looked about as old as my DGD started telling me what I could and couldn't do with my money. I have been with that bank since 1959. No more.
NPM: Lovely to hear from you. Everything crossed for you.
LW: You are going to miss Ted, make the most of his last evening with you. Have you had any dealings with the PDSA? We have a chap at the Drop-in who has a little dog that comes with him every Sunday. Yesterday the little dog was hopping on 3 legs because he has a claw which has ingrown I think and has festered. I asked what was happening about it and was told that he had contacted the PDSA because he is on benefits and was told that he would have to register and then it would be 4 weeks before the dog could be treated. I was appalled and rang them myself this morning. Apparently this is correct and what is more the dog will have to be vaccinated first, which he will have to pay for, and that will be 6 weeks before the dog can be treated. I was so mad and upset that The Rev got in touch with the RSPCA and was given a much more sympathetic hearing, the lovely girl there asked for the man's phone number and said she was sure they could work something out. I will find out tonight what is happening. I'm tempted to pay for a private vet myself but we try not to do that sort of thing because if the others find out about it they will think that I can pay for all sorts of things and my purse is quite small. However, that dog will not suffer for one minute more than necessary.
I thought the PDSA were there for the animals and for owners who had no money. This particular man won't take anything from the food bank for himself but will always take food for his dog. It is his family.
Rant over.

Happy Birthday Anniestar :bdaycake:
Judi sorry to hear about Scooby (((Hugs)))
halight I am glad that the Job centre wasn't too bad. DD absolutely hated having to sign on, they were so nasty at our JS. She went back to college just to get them off her back, she has a little four hour a week job that gives her a bit of pocket money, so that stops her having to ask us for money to go out etc.
I have done lots in between the rain. I even managed to get a couple of blankets dry on the lineI cleaned out the fridge as well because it really needed it
DH is going to do the oven this weekend, I manage to keep the hob and grill clean but because I can't kneel DH has to do the oven (I don't mind I always hated that bit)
I managed to break my glass salad bowl today as well, so I need to get a new one, until then it is a cheapo melamine one that I have in the cupboard.

Monnagran,
Ring the dogs trust, they will generally help out with a vet for a homeless persons animals, I think they do a scheme where the person has to pay the first £10 xx0 -
Monnagran the RSPCA can help he would have to prove that he was on benefits and homeless though.
