 If you're feeling brave!
The last two I bought were around £100, but I've recommended some ~£45 Corsair PSUs for non-techy friends with more basic requirements.
I've had a few from a local shop for £12, 300W for basic desktops, they work well enough and haven't had one go pop yet......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I wouldn't encourage anyone to purchase a PSU for £12, it's the heartbeat of your entire machine cheap kits that go boom can take the rest with it.
And the chances of that are far higher on a £12 PSU :P
As an aside Core temp is known to not be the most accurate

Is much better0 -
GJ - Thanks for the link. At a quick glance,m I can't see one that looks the current one that's causing the issue.
I'll remove it from the case when I get a chance and get some proper measurements/part numbers.
Jamie - It won't stay on long enough to install anything so I'll have to sort the PSU first (and probably reseat the CPU at the same time).:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Hi guys, sorry it's been a while.
I've just removed the PSU and measured it (it's 125mm x 85mm x 70mm).
GunJack - can't see anything like that size on the page you linked to. There's no stickers on it either to check what wattage it is or anything else. Any ideas?
Needs to have Molex(?) connectors on it as everything connected to it is IDE.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Was it a pre-built machine? If so, and it's the original PSU, maybe you can get a component listing from the system builder's website?Needs to have Molex(?) connectors on it as everything connected to it is IDE.
You can get SATA to Molex connectors quite cheaply, so don't rule out a better/cheaper PSU if it doesn't have Molex power connections:

SpeedFan is pretty lightweight (uses ~7MB RAM on my machine) and doesn't come with any junk:

Seems an odd size alrightThose guys I gave the link for are quite helpful, give them a ring and see if they can help - I found them really good when I needed a less-common psu in a hurry...and with a normal UK number, all it'll cost you is a couple of minutes

Cheers GJ - I'll give them a ring later.
One other odd thing about this PSU is that the socket the AC lead plugs into is just that, a socket.
The cable to the PSU plugs unto the back of that so if I can remove the current socket I can get a slightly wider PSU in there which might take it to a normal size.
I've installed a slightly oversized PSU for the time being (it's just sat on the DVD drive at the minute with no case top on.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
