Hi,
I made some pasta tonight, too much oops. I was wondering if I could freeze it, I made it with dried pasta shells, a pasta sauce added one tin of tomatoes and fried up some onions and peppers. There enough for another meal for two or three meals. Any help would be great ! Thanks !!!0 -
Hi, I've just done a batch of pasta and rice dishes and have frozen them so I'll be very upset if you are not meant to freeze them!! I have tried the rice dish before and it's fine once defrosted in the microwave for a few minutes, but this is my first lot of pasta 'ready meals'.We’ve had to remove your signature. I freeze pasta in sauces. It can be a bit drier after freezing but its safe to freeze it if you defrost it completely before reaheating and make sure it is heated through before eating.0

Freezing pasta and rice is fine, just bare in mind rice has to be properly defrosted and well cooked after to protect against food poisoning!!!0

It freezes fine and personally, I find it is better when it is defrosted if it is mixed in a sauce so you should have no problems.0

I have made pasta sauces, mixed in penne pasta and then frozen it in individual dishes as my own ready meals. I defrosted overnight and then heated in the oven covered in foil and it all came out lovely! Just make sure the pasta is completely coated with the sauce so that it can't dry in the oven.
I tend to just freeze the sauce on its own now and cook the pasta when needed.0 -
