Hi, I'm catching up after some days 'out of it' (dealing with mental health issues and ESA assesment).

The OP's situation sounds so much like my old place - small company, run by Father and son. Son covering up mistakes, but reporting them back to his Dad, breeding paranoia.

Our system was based on spreadsheets - a quote or contract would be raised from the details based on this large spreadsheet via mailmerge type software - one mistake on this spreadsheet (not necessarily entered by the person producing the quote/contract) could produce a 'reportable mistake'. You often had to be aware of telephone conversations which had taken place to know if the differences in what had been entered was correct - a deviation from the 'norm', or a mistake by the sales team. Sometimes the details had been entered on the CRM software, but often not. It was a total nightmare!!!

In several of my previous jobs I'd got a reputation for having an eye for detail, a high work ethic etc. but try as I might I couldn't reach the 100% they expected. All the time I was there, staff were being disposed of for a variety of reasons, my predecessor was described as not picking things up quick enough, I wish I'd listened to the warning bells I heard then.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
