Breech of contract?????

Who knows. I doubt she did have a verbal warning - although I am sure that the employer will have it written up as such by now. Witness how the outcome of a written warning was delivered. To me it looks like they want to run through the process ad deliver the outcomes, but keep it all low key so thta OP does not really know quite what she is up against.OneYorkshireLass wrote: »Didn't the OP have a verbal warning at the end of June?
So why does she expect another verbal warning in July? Or did I miss something amongst all the fighting ..?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I don't see why they need to go to all the effort if it is to sack her - they could simply give her notice and that would be it.
It may be possible that they genuinely want to see her stay and improve?0 -

I would say that they are not confident of their abilities to give her the push, so they are going through the motions.
If they genuinely wanted to see her stay and improve, wielding the big stick is utterly incompetent when the owner's son [allegedly] puts the alleged errors right and sends the work back with a big tick.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. it sounds like a small company, so I'm sure any case against them would be a big cost to them, so hence making a watertight case.I don't see why they need to go to all the effort if it is to sack her - they could simply give her notice and that would be it.

The OP is also a woman, which brings into play pregnancy as well, if they should sack her and later find she was pregnant then without a strong case for sacking, it would look as if it was because of the pregnancy.
I might be over thinking this but with all the regulations etc I'm sure employers want to make sure they are covered.0 -
Thank you all for your advice.
Slightly more confused now then before.
The company is a small family run one and I do believe they are wanting to dismiss me. I have felt for some time that this was coming. While I was on holiday I came back to find out that I had to move office in to one on my own then a couple of weeks later my job role was altered over night with out me knowing or it being discussed with me.
I do not have a verbal warning that I am aware of and as it states in our company handbook a written warning is issued after a verbal warning. Back in June was an informal meeting to discuss my work accuracy.
I do hold my hands up to the mistake and silly ones at that. But I keep getting emails stating the inaccuracy I make and that I have to reach 95% accuracy in to weeks. I have asked for someone to sit with me as I type to help me see where I go wrong. I always double check my work but do not seem to pick these mistakes up. I feel utterly useless when I receive emails telling me all the mistakes I've made and I have no idea how to stop them from happening
I have a 2 month notice period and just want out now with out any come back.0 -
Informal meeting or not in June, I think that was your verbal warning.0

If it was would they not have had to advise me of this and issue a letter stating so?0

You have confirmed that you are making silly mistakes. Why do you need someone to sit with you? Use a spell checker.
It seems your employer has been more than fair. They could have asked you to leave in June. You said you want leave, look for alternative employment where you will not be required to type."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Missile suggests using a spellchecker. Of course that would not find the mistake referenced in that post and even a grammar checker would not do so.
Read over your post I have posted and see if you can see any mistakes in your typing there. A grammar checker will suggest some (one of which is repeated) but you need to read carefully to see others.
Do the emails you receive saying you have made mistakes actually tell you what the mistakes are? What kinds of mistakes do they say you make? How are they going to measure 95% accuracy?0 -
The emails I receive state job number then the issue. The emails I receive do not go into detail the grammar or spelling mistakes or any other mistakes in detail.0
