You should be ok, but if you want to make sure, do the float test.
Details are here:

It says it far better than I could!
Hope it helps,

almost certainly as I believe thats a 'best before' or 'sell by date'
There is a method to check freshness by putting them in water but I cant remember if they should sink or 'swim'
Personally I crack mine in a seperate cup & if I have to leave the room, I dont eat 'em lol - no honest you will know an 'off' egg lol
edit - as cooking changes the situ anyway & only 1 day out,I would crack one/ submerge one to test & then store no more than 1 weekI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
Hi dubgirl,
Try the Fresh Egg Test before deciding. There's an earlier thread that might help too so I'll add your thread to it to keep all the replies together.

Hi, well they are eggs that are out of date (dated 10th), are they still ok to use? I was thinking of hard boiling to take to lunch with me and one for OH for tomorrows lunch. Seems a waste otherwise. Thanks
Eggs stored in a fridge last longer. I would have absolutly no problems using eggs upto 10 days out of date. I use free range organic eggs from local farm, these are not labled. I was told they would be OK for a couple of months, even longer in fridge.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Hi, thanks for all the replies, will give the float test a go.0

At my local chinese restaurant if they have eggs that are out of date, they crack them and leave them egg shells and all around the base of their indoor plants..... They say that the goodness of the eggs enriches the indoor plants...
Just an idea

Me too!
Butwhile we are here - can I freeze eggs and if so, how? I never use them all in time and end up throwing three away which is so wasteful. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
