i'd use it, then again i've just used an asda tin of sweet and sour cooking sauce dated dec, and it only being jan thought it would be ok.
it tasted ok, not bad for 2 years out date  must get round to sorting cupboards out more often :rotfl:enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Sniff it, taste it and then decide.
I had a huge jar of mincemeat bought for 29p in Home Bargains bought ealier last year. The best before date was September, used it to make the best mince pies ever at xmas.
We're still ok just a bit fatter after scoffing them all.:rotfl:0 -
Its going to be fine - the date is only a guideline anyway. OH's dad has tinned chicken curry back to 2004 (OH ditched it - didn't want to risk it - but only after he'd cooked it!) and frozen cocktail sausages dated 2000 which he refused to let us throw out! What he eats when we're not there god only knows but hes a fit and healthy 73 year old! :rotfl:0

Is the lid popped up? if so do not eat. If not, seal is intact and smells ok once opened it shouldn't be a problem (as long as it's not been sitting in the sun for the last year!). We use sauces much older than that (6 months or so...) not dead yet!Tim0

I fed the children custard dated.. July.. 2005.. They lived!!!
Though if they don't go to sleep pretty quickly they might not!
When they go manky the pop-up lids pop up.. like when the seal is broken.. gas released by the bacteria naturally in them makes the air inside expand and up pops the lid.. if the lid is still flat and doesn't 'pop' I'd eat it.. if it pops.. feed it to OH.. and if he is sick.. don't eat it!
Catt.. I wouldn't worry about the sausages.. if they've been there 8 years the chances are he won't ever eat them!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Chuck it in the bin! I'm paranoid about out of date foods." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
