M and S polo shirts and shirts are the best i have found so far, last all year stay white and keep there shape, Asda ones were terribleI don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute :whistle:0

I bought a mixture of Tesco and Sainsburys. Last year my DS's school did their logo uniforms throguh Tesco (for the first time) but the quality wasn't great; the sweaters shrunk dreadfully and faded very fast. the polo shirts shrunk too. But, very cheap for uniform with a school logo. This year they've gone back to Price Buckland and the difference in price is phenomenal - 5 times the price of the Tesco ones. That better be reflected in the quality!
I found the Sainsbury's ones to be ok but I did have one issue with the trousers; my DS started reception and didn't yet have the fine motor skills to do up the metal clasp on the trousers; they didn't have them on the aged 4 but did on the aged 5 ones.
My friend gave me some M&S aged 6 (he grew a lot this year!) and they seem quite good."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
Re: shirts and polo shirts from Tesco and Asda - I forgot to include a summary about them in my earlier post.
I'm really surprised at reading other posters' experience with shrinking and staying white, as I've been extremely happy with past purchases.
None have shrunk, they've kept their shape and stayed white with the help of those whitening pouches in each wash.
In fact, my youngest son could very easily wear his brother's shirts when he grows into them! :T
I always use a 60C wash for whites so I'm stumped why other people have had shrinkage with theirs...very strange indeed.Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0 -
As much as I like M&S, I've never bought a pair of trousers from there, either for the kids or me, that the hems didn't come down on. MIL says she gets the same problem too. A couple of washes and I've got to get the wonderweb out and re-hem them. Very annoying.

That's funny as I've had the same problem this year.
OP I only ever had m&s trousers and shorts apart from the hems this year no other problems. Polo shirts l had from next and they shrunk despite only being 40degree wash, this year we had the school ones which were fab, so I'm sticking to those.
