What are the restaurant prices like at Barony Castle for an evening meal? Tripadvisor reviews only seem to mention high wine prices but, as we don't drink, that isn't an issue for us.
High wine prices, but their wine is excellent - my £8 glass was simply superb
    Beer/Lager also about £3.80 a pint.

Fairly sure the food wasn't bad, but not weatherspoons prices for sure.
In the bar meals, Haggis Neeps Tatties was about £9.99 from memory.
Restaurant's about £20-25 for set menu I think?

We ate out one night at a small town about 10 miles away who's name escapes me...

As a shopping trip, I can recommend White's which is at Bolton's Reebok Stadium. Lovely but small pool, although restricted times for kids as it's a members pool (<6pm, >9am).

Staff there are excellent, and made staying with a 6 month old baby an absolute doddle.

Bar food and drinks prices are a little OTT for the tiny portions on offer, but top quality grub.

We stayed at Carden Park and thought it was fantastic! The staff there couldnt do enough for us, the bar was a little pricey, but its not your local is it! The food was amazing and at £25 each for 3 courses (which were decent sized portions!), it wasn't over priced. I shall definitely be looking for a deal there.
Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!

    Hi

I saw somebody had mentioned a family room, do they have these in the sale? Does anybody know how the sale and the site works please? I'm not very good with computers but hoping to give it a go, is there a separate section for sale rooms? Do you need to know your chosen hotel and dates and then just hope to be lucky?

    Thank you for any help

    Hi Elsie

I would advise you to stay up late or get up very early to book, especially if you want a special date/family room. I discovered this sale very early one morning when I couldn't sleep, but the lots of the rooms were disappearing before I could book them.

The link at the top should get you to the sale. Yes- you have to hope they will have your dates available as there are only a limited number of sale rooms.

I would research the hotels and rooms available today, especially as some of the hotels are primarily conference centres and don't have a range of different rooms. That way you will know what you want rather than checking up on the hotels as you book. Amother word of warning - we went to Uplands Park on the night when there was a function - it was a total nightmare - avoid!! We stayed at East Horsley when there were several functions on but due to the layout of the hotel and good management we weren't disturbed at all.

We have 2 others booked for the summer holidays so don't think I'll be indulging this time round.

This is now branded as Village Hotel.....and recently had a refurb, still a very good standard compared to other Blackpool hotels.

Thank you for your reply. I'm not too specific with dates just like a bargain and hopefully can find somewhere to make a weekend of it.

Do you know if the £19 rooms will all show up or do you have to put your dates and requirements in and just see if one is available?

    Thank you

    Elsie
