    Hello lovely Z.

    'Interesting evening' :eek::eek::eek:

    Rehearsal dinner aka watching my dad burning bridges like the Great Fire of London was in fashion. Maybe he likes the idea of solitude in old age.

    Thanks Knitwitch. Two jobs for today;

    1. Try to ensure the bride and groom have a good day
    2. Try to ensure my neices have a good day.

    This is like a new winter sport.......ice dancing on eggshells. We seem to be remarkably adept at it.

    Is this for "car crash" versions of "interesting"? ;)

    He's probably not thinking that far ahead. He probably expects "duty" and "will" (not good will) are going to provide an endless stream of relatives to grace his door.

    I must admit, I didn't think he'd be going for some reason. Maybe I'm just thinking people have more sense than they do...

    And somewhere in there *you* need to have a good day.

    That would have made a lot of sense to you or me! It appears you know me too well!

    The positives are that in complaining for about 90 minutes and then shouting at my youngest neice he made the decision about who to support very easy for me and my brother's . It did mean we had to try and manage the situation but I think we had kind of boxed him in for the day.

    I did enjoy the day but it was secondary to containing him and not letting him ruin the wedding day.

    Feeling stressed and slightly paranoid. Actually that without the slightly. It's like I'm offending someone at every turn by not spending enough money on them!

    Looking forward to getting away to San Francisco.
