    So I've been to see the dentist this afternoon. Didn't get the 'fresh out of uni I'll give you a lecture on how to brush your teeth and a sticker' dentist either. That was a positive.

    The pain from both an upper and lower teeth was probably an issue of referred pain aswell, so only one dodgy tooth, not two. Another positive!

    .......and the negative.
    What do you think?
    It's a dentist.....it's almost NHS but not quite.

    So he took an x-ray, looked at my painkiller collection (I left the bottle of Malbec at home) :rotfl: and then talked about my options;
    1. remove the tooth
    2. do a root canal filling and a crown
    3. do a root canal filling and a white crown

    We talked about the cost in a vague sort of ethereal way.
    Then I went down to reception, who in a less vague sort of ethereal way asked;
    "Do you want to pay for the treatment in full now?"
    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    £219 now....like right now :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    So that will be a no like! cos I no likey.

    Do dentist do installments? I could do with timing this for my promotional pay in December :D

    I told the dentist I was probably going to have to time my house move around my teeth :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:- more reality than a joke.

    To top the visit off, he forgot to give me my pain medication back :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: (have now retrieved!)

    The decision for now is whether to go for the Jaws look and have an amalgam crown for the very reasonable £219 or think b*gger it and get a white one for about £400.
    Temptation to spend all around :o

    Oh....nearly forgot....he also gave me a prescription for anti-biotics with strict instructions (which were repeated by the pharmacist - that's how I know they were strict) to NOT DRINK

    Have these people been looking in my wheellie bin or something?:beer:

    Not that I want you to think I am ungrateful. I am grateful this is happening now rather than a year ago and I am grateful to be treated by someone who got straight A stars at A level and 7 years dental training and who doesn't treat me by beating me over the head with a log, tying a string round my tooth and slamming the door shut.

    Maybe I should focus on moving in January :D

    Must remember not to headbutt any men in the crotch tomorrow. That will really hurt!
