So the current focus is on three debts;
£124 on MBNA cc at 35%
c. £1300 on Halifax cc at 15%
Up to £2200 O/D with HSBC at 18%
I am focused, focused on spending as little as possible on the O/D and paying off the MBNA with my next pay cheque. But into this little world of debt reduction has come a letter from MBNA.
A 0% balance transfer offer on credit cards till Sept 2015 AND a 0% money transfer so I can also shift my O/D.

Lets have a look at the totals (please feel free to say in enthusiastic Phonathon/Children in Need voice!)
CDL £10,000 £7147 new total 29% paid
Dad £7000 £0 100% paid off
Friend £280 £0 100% paid off
Virgin CC (MBNA £3350 £97 new total 97% paid
HSBC CC £4404 £0 100% paid off
M&S CC £1188 £ 1017 14% paid off
HBOS CC £1430 £1347 6% paid
New total is £9608
So (Starting a sentence with that word is becoming habit!) on or just after the 15th (on a beery thing on the 15th) I shall clear the MBNA card of its remaining £97 at 35%:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Which will result in this
Then I think I should transfer both the 18% APR Overdraft (which hopefully shall be close to £1700 or £500 under the limit if I have kept a lid on clothes shopping New approach is to only visit Per Una on NSDs 'Butti you can look but you can't touch') and the 15% APR HBOS card which is at £1347, transfer to the MBNA offer of 0% till September 2015.
The M&S card will then become my most expensive credit card at 6%. Bl**dy amazing
Now if I'm doing snowballing properly.....
:jWake up at the back there:j
I would clear the M&S card first but the M&S card has been happily plodding along on its own minding its own business ......so (there it is again :rotfl:) I think I should focus my mind on the new MBNA total of just over £3k at 0% until Sept 2015 and then 35%:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I need to pay £266 in each month to clear that in time. What I think I am going to do is up the M&S one from £30 to £50 and put about £400 to the MBNA one at least until I buy the house (in October 2016 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) That gives me about £650 per month going to debts. It can come down once my costs go up but that will do nicely for now.
Right better avoid getting a parking ticket and go and do my shopping. CERAZIE GOLF this afternoon and then I have a shark to trim.

A woman going shopping without touching anything? That's plausible...and the 15% APR HBOS card which is at £1347, transfer to the MBNA offer of 0% till September 2015.

And I, being the contrary soul I am, doesn't think that.I need to pay £266 in each month to clear that in time.
Wouldn't it be £290 since you're taking a month off. What I think I am going to do is up the M&S one from £30 to £50 and put about £400 to the MBNA one at least until I buy the house (in October 2016 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) That gives me about £650 per month going to debts.
I take it that the difference between £650 and £450 is your CDL?It can come down once my costs go up but that will do nicely for now.
How about...- Minimum payments on the "new" MBNA
- £400 ish onto M&S until November (or thereabouts). Balance should then be about £0 at the point.
- Then £450ish for the remaining term off the MBNA card - you should pay it off with time to spare.
- Obviously, I don't have all the figures, so a bit of arm-waving rounding is here.
Right better avoid getting a parking ticket and go and do my shopping. CERAZIE GOLF this afternoon and then I have a shark to trim.
