Thanks Beanie / mum.
Have had a think about funding it and one of the joys of moving and doing your financial filing is that I have found a tax rebait of about £60 to apply for AND I also always get a loyalty payment of about £200 from my gas/electric supplier in December.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

I'm sure Mr Z will have plenty of suggestions ...
Saying that is always a receipe for disaster. Especially as open ended as that...Don't you think that is the joy of life Northern Las. You stress about something until something else comes along!
You need to try some different joys I think...So long as we don't do a 20 mile day next year and I find different shoelaces for my boots (ones that stay tied)
All the experience you have, and you can't tie something up?
:A :whistle:or different boots I think I will be okay. My lower back starts hurting after about 8 miles so I need to do some work on that.
How does it hurt?Today's little issue;
A £60 dress for work that would get a lot of use and look good.
1. Can I afford it? No
By how much can't you afford it?2. Do I need it? It's nice and it looks good.
3. Would I wear it? Probably about once a week.
Hmmmm
Need to go back home and see what I can sell (apart from myself!)
The lodger?

I'm not running backwards and forwards to check on El. Might send the huskies to hunt for her when it gets dark, and those helicopter heroes are usually easy on the eye so I might chat [STRIKE]up [/STRIKE]to one of those about where I last saw her "The breakfast table" :rotfl: I jest.
On to more serious matters. Jobs for today - credit card and mortgage.
Someone said on here they were looking for tips. Well read on and weep. Today's top tip Learn from my mistakes!
I have found out how my car insurance got paid. On an autorenew from a credit card that has otherwise not been used for a year and has about £80 headroom to the limit...and guess what my insurance isn't less than £80!!!:eek::eek::eek:
So need to go and sort that out today...and cancel auto renew on the car insurance.
On other good news :rotfl: I need to go to the same place and sort out payments for my mortgage which is going back on to a repayment basis (Capital AND interest) taking it up from £160 to £405. This month with the move to a new room (2 months rent) I'm paying out £945 which is OVER 50% of my salary...which I can tell you from my years and years of study is NOT classified as affordable. In fact without studying housing finance you could probably also tell me that is not affordable!
Oh well, at least I like baked beans
I think we can safely say dress is on hold until tax rebait comes through!

Well yesterdays payments have hit the bank account  £1180 out of my bank account in the space of four days. But I have found out two useful things.
1. From talking nicely to the people at the card company you can get them to refund the charges for genuine mistakes.
2. It appears a [STRIKE]revolving [/STRIKE][STRIKE]revolting [/STRIKE]revolving payment for Car Insurance WILL ALWAYS BE TAKEN EVEN IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT. They seem to take the view that to do otherwise would leave them partly liable if you had an accident!
Maybe today I should focus on next month's budget. May cheer me up. Only includes 2-3 weeks rent due to the need to align the rent with my pay days.
Probably will also include replacement of wheel bearings for one wheel. Maybe we'll try to forget that for a couple of days. Have brought a reasonable amount of food from home so I think we will do lots of meal planning and not so much socialising.
Thank god for my lodger. She pays me in 2 days time which will help the whimpering noise coming from my bank account.
Am going to talk to my dad about putting off payments to him for 6 months till I have let the house. Talking to next door neighbour yesterday and he is mooting the idea of buying the house should I wish to sell in a couple of years time (Blew me away that bit!)
In Good news (there is some!!) the landlady of the new place has told me I can paint my room - magnolia. Actually going to paint it Ivory Lace of which I have 3 tins from when the insurers had to redecorate my house. The current colour is a greeny brown, my cousin described it as 'fresh cow pat' but I suspect that isn't the name on the tin!
In other Good news I move away from the old lodgings by Saturday at the latest into a house where I can relax, cook and put my pictures up! :T:T:T
...and eat lots of baked beans.

Well the bread diet could be stepping up a gear in the coming months as we lose the more interesting items...or we could go for the IF diet. That sounds really cheap. Intermittant fasting as you ask. 2 days in the week on about 600 cals a day, the rest normal. You lose a bit of weight but it mainly seems to reduce all heart disease issues and remove the risk of cancer (that is the one I am really concerned about). Need to do some more reading on it really and work out how it would work out without me eating one of my fellow workers in a moment of weakness!
Budget to look at for the next month. Rent has gone down but wheel bearings will need replacing. It never stops does it:)
Otherwise life is not bad.
Bedroom nearly entirely white now rather than crappy brown cow pat. Just looking for the cheapest way to get another pot of ivory lace. That will have to wait a fortnight till I have visited the Emerald Isle.
Bit disorientated by having the bed in the middle of the room while I paint walls. Last night I was feeling all the way round the room trying to find the light switch so I could go to the loo and trying to ignore the comedy value of the situation so I didn't p**s myself. I went up and down the same bit of wall three times trying to find the door!
It had been a bit of a comedy evening tbh. The quizmaster at the pub quiz asking on the James Bond section 'What year did they make the film Doctor Number?' :rotfl:
Job also going well. Starting to look (touch wood) that we will hit the targets for the first year and I am going on my first site visit later this month to start and prepare me for some project development. Really looking forward to this.
Right better print off my budget and then have a look at my Experion report and this strange alias I have on it!Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.
