Possibly laughing but I worry slightly when I'm in that state that I'll start and not be able to stop. After my mum died I would laugh for 10 mins full on...people usually looked horrified and then leave the room!!!

Going to view a house on Saturday. Got a fairly bad response from my friends online but the project managers here were much more positive.

I'm sure not all your housemates would leave. Especially not the one stuck to the sofa with a breadknife.

I can't pass it around here much...it would pretty much say "I live here". I'll send you the current list today or tomorrow.

    Well.....

Been to see the property with the arch. Standing under the arch I think it was easy to see the problem above your head. It appeared to be cardboard stapled to the underside - well known for it's insulating qualities.

I initially introduced myself to the other viewer (in a comedy moment) while we both thought each other was the agent. Parting wasn't much better.
What did you think says the agent. I mention something about lighting £20 notes and throwing them out of the window.

Also called into an estate agents in town. She tried to get me to look at the Chris Bonnington house, the one that is overpriced but has a replica of the north face of the Eiger as a mantlepiece. I told I was waiting until it had been on the market for 6 months. I think she's looking for a willing [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] purchaser to go in and say "!!!!!!" followed by lots of :eek::eek::eek:. Y'know...break it to them gently.

So quiet week at work last week. Should get busier next week and I've started thinking about holidays.

Was to have paid £700 off HSBC visa. Have paid £500!:o Not great.

Have had 2 NSD's so far this month and will be doing the meal planning for next week when I get home from the library.

In actuality, cardboard isn't a bad insulator for it's thickness. But that's assuming it's corrugated. It is corrugated isn't it? Nobody had just stuck up cornflake packets instead?

Cardboard however is no good in the rain, wind or snow. I.e. outside in the UK. It's also not very fire proof.

Perhaps you could look at the arch as an example of underfloor cooling. You might be grateful of it when Global Warming turns the South into the Sahara desert.

Is it tall enough to get a camel through?

I haven't seen that one - though I have seen houses whose stairs were like the Eiger.

But at least it wasn't £300 - so chin up.

I think this sort of thing is more likely when you've had elderly people living in a house for decades.
