Apart from said double duvet (which I am still sleeping under because my room is bloody cold and the combined weight gives me the illusion that I am flatter in the morning :D(apart from my head which could REALLY REALLY do with being smaller!)

    Wear tight hats.

Can't see any reason why I shouldn't go for an alcohol free January. Well none apart from fear :eek::eek::eek::eek: and disbelief :eek::eek::eek::eek: that I can do it and an over-riding belief that THE LIVER IS EVIL AND MUST BE PUNISHED.

    You'll feel so much better.

So 4 beds, but sleeps 10 people...

    I did wonder

Is it king size beds and we draw straws...this century's version of throwing your keys in the fruit bowl?

So encouraged by Skinty I have put together my aims for 2014....

    1. Stay within budget
    2. Have a dry January
    3. Update CV and Linked in profile
    4. Ask for a pay review
    5. Clear two biggest credit cards
    6. Buy a house
    7. Try out new social events for 6 months
    8. Pass level 2 sign language

Hopefully the pay review (or alternatively change of job) and invigorated social
life will help decide where I want to be. Viewed my first house today.

    Happy New Year all.

I'm feeling more settled and ideally would like to stay but I want to encourage my employer to not take the p*ss on my pay.

Wanted to go and see this one as it was clearly 'a project' (looked very like the houses I deal with at work). Needed new windows, secondary glazing, some central heating, a new boiler, a couple of isolated patches of damp dealing with. I wanted to see how I felt about this much work and tbh I felt fairly relaxed.

The good news was the roof and the structure which both looked good. Not in the right location for me though and the house didn't move me. Thought I needed to start.

Well it appears it's easy to have an NSD if you just stay in bed! Don't think this approach will work for the year though!

Going to sort out a viewing for another house probably on Sunday if possible.

Straws sounds 19th rather than 21st century. Isn't there an app?

Hmm...you definitely sound like the sort of person to take house hunting. My attention to detail consists of "How fast is the broadband?" :rotfl:

    Not a houseboat then.

When your social life gets more exciting it'll probably be the only way for a NSD...

Have to buy Z because I've sold mine and if I stay living in a shared house one day one of the guys won't clean the kitchen and I'll find myself hanging on to a bread knife that's embedded in them....and possibly smiling manically!:D
