Quote me happy text cancelling my car insurance!

Quote me happy (Aviva) emailed me through 9 hours ago to say they emailed me on 21/1/2013 and 28/1/2013 to say they needed my proof on NCD. This is rubbish as I went through every single email yesterday that I have received and sent. It's my own company email and only I can use it. I will be asking for copies of emails sent to me with actual times and dates on. Also they do not mention the fact that I have received nothing in the post stating cancellation. I have realised since talking to my other half that we have a small pensions pot with Aviva well that will be getting cancelled in writing today0

At this stage, concentrate your efforts on getting the policy reinstated rather than falling out with Aviva - you can always do this later if they won't bend!
Having this cancelled policy on your record is bad news - you will have to declare this for evermore, and this cuts you out of being able to get any quotes from the majority of the off the peg/online insurers.
Future premiums will be expensive and you will have to go through specialist insurers dealing with clients the mainstream don't want of you cannot find any regular insurer to accept you.
If you can get the policy reinstated, then you can have the pleasure/revenge of cancelling all your Aviva policies and finding better quality places to go with!0 -
Have you checked your junk mail?0
-
Your right Quentin thank you
Yes I have checked my junk mail but I did send on 30th Jan a copy of my proof of no claims exactly as they told me to with details in the message bar.
They say in the email they cannot reinstate my insurance as it is against data base regulations. i'm unable to copy and paste the email on here with me being a new user.
they say if i want to go and purchase again from them I can! but I'd have to tick that I've had insurance cancelled so I don't think I can gain anything.0 -
They can reinstate cover if they've made a mistake.
Reinstating a policy involves a lot of work for an Insurer and would need to be authorised by a senior member of staff. It's more likely a case of they C.B.A0 -
Their reason for being unable to reinstate your policy hardly answers your reasons for asking them to!
It looks like you may have to go down the formal complaint route and escalate if you are unhappy with their reply.
In the meantime it looks like you have to get cover disclosing a cancellation. If your complaint is successful you should end up with being recompensed your costs.
See if a local broker (not Swinton) can help.0 -
Thanks guys for your time. Your replies are appreciated. I have had to get cover as i needed to get to work and got it with LV. I phoned them up and explained what had happened and they have covered me. It's cost me an extra £150 than with QMH (Aviva) but they were helpful with my problem. If they do reinstate i will have to cancel my cover with LV but I suppose at least for the future i wouldn't have the 'cancellation' on my records. Once I have been advised of their final reply either way then I will update on here for anybody who is thinking of using them in the future.0

I'm back again chaps
When I sent my proof of no claims as requested by email I've found in my personal email on 30/1/2013 at 11:03 a response regarding my email sent saying ' we have got your email thank you and will be in touch within one working day' I have had to email them to ask for a contact to make a formal complaint.

Good news for me. Quote me happy have reinstated my policy and have acknowledged that I did send the proof on NCD on 30th Jan it was not checked.0

Make sure you get reimbursed all your costs over this and ask them to compensate you for all the inconvenience /time/loss of use of your car whilst uninsured etc etc!0
