The issue now is as Quentin said you now have to declare having a policy canceleld and failure to declare that may result in your insurer not paying out or cancelling that policy.
Bed and Grovel to them if needed but getting it reinstated should be high priority.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks sooo much for this thread i was about to insure my wifes car with "quote me happy" but had a querry regarding driving a third party vehicle even if the policy was full comp, wanted to talk to some one on the phone but couldn`t find a phone number or e mail an internet search lead m here... thank god.
I will be looking elsewhere for insurance thanks again0 -
I have just found out that QMH have cancelled my insurance from a nice police man who has given me a £200 ticket and 6 points! they didn't give me any cancellation notice at all!! I forgot to upload a copy of my no claims but surely they should have contacted me before cancelling my insurance?!
If anyone else has experience of this, I would appreciate any help and advice.
Should I refuse to accept the penalty and go to court? I have spoken to the ombidsmun and made a complaint already. Other than that I haven't got a clue what to do and in the mean while I have no insurance or use of my car.
Please help?!!0 -
I had a problem when trying to upload my no claims bonus to the website. So in plenty of time I emailed quote me happy to say I had a problem and could I send it by email. Within 24 hours I got a reply from them saying yes send it by email with your policy number and Proof of NCD in the subject box.
I did this the same day. I have now received an email from them saying they have cancelled my insurance due to not receiving it.
I have emailed them through from home to let them know i did send it but proof of the email sent with the NCD is at my works computer.
I don't know what to do as I live just over 20 miles from work and does this mean I'm not covered to drive at all.
I would of hoped with them not having any telephone contact numbers that they would be on the ball when your sending them proof of NCD. I don't know what to do next0 -
Is proof you sent it enough for them to say we dont have it though?
If it were me i would be on the phone to them the instant i had emailed or uploaded proof. I wouldnt trust anything to chance. Or mail them a copy recorded delivery to ensure they got them also.
Now you have a policy cancelled you need to sort it or get insurance elsewhere. But declaring you have had a policy cancelled will put a few insurers off and the others may load your premium.
Formal complaint letter not email sent recorded delivery. But they have 8 weeks to come to a solution. So unless you can take your car off the road whilst they sort it you need to sort alternative insurance out.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If they have stated your policy is cancelled (rather than given you a date when it will be cancelled), then you shouldn't take it on the road till you get it confirmed you are under cover, as you won't have any cover at all till then.
If you have been given notice of cancellation on a certain date in the near future then you remain covered.
(Either way you need to get this resolved with them!)0 -
They do not have a number to contact them they state that on the website it is internet only. I sent the email as requested and it didn't bounce back or anything. I've sent them another email but they don't reply for 24 hours. I've been on their facebook page trying to contact them as well and there are a few people with the same problem. One lady even posted to them that they acknowledged she had uploaded it but still charged her to cancel the policy. I paid the premium in full just over £400 and until i'm reimbursed i don't have the money to purchase new insurance. I've been driving 24 years and never had this problem or a claim. It's awful0

Still no reply by quote me happy even though they sent an acknowledgement that my email had been received and they would respond within 24 hours.
Got my copies of emails sent and answered by them regarding my problem uploading and copy of proof of no claims sent. I have not received anything in the post stating they would be cancelling my insurance
Managed to get some insurance sorted with LV very helpful and on the end of the phone until 9pm. It did cost me another £150 but I'm covered.
I will email again tomorrow.
They state they are internet only and do not deal with phone calls. Surely if that's how you work you should be bang on when dealing with emails. I'd like to know how many £54 cancellation policy fees they have collected in the last 12 months minimum!0 -
There are official reps for Aviva on MSE, try changing the title of the thread to include the word "Aviva" at the start of the title as this may attract them to the thread.

thanks for the info but i'm new to the forum and wouldn't know how to change the thread name
i'm going to email them again tomorrow and also start the complaints proceedure as I think this would be the next step with them ignoring me?.
I will keep this forum updated as to their replies because I do believe there is a lot more than just me this is happening to.
I also tried to contact them via their facebook page but they took my post off. I wasn't abusive in any way but they didn't answer.0
