Two Medion laptops died on me. one was under warranty and was replaced by the retailer (Woolworths.... after lots of questionining) and the other died a few months later just after the one year and Medion didn't recognise the three year warranty at all. No more Medions for me.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

I've had 3 medion PC's from Aldi and loved every one of them! I also have 2 of the surround sound systems that are going on sale with the PC and at £25 they are great too!The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

The 3 year warranty is excellent.
Their telephone support services are good too (I use a number from good old "say no to 0870"), called them yesterday to try and sort out a network problem, they helped me to confirm it was my wireless ASDL modem/router that was at fault - an item not part of the Medion PC. So far, in 2 years I have used them twice now, they replaced a faulty DVD burner at my home that would not accept any blank media at the one year and now there's this latest network faff about a year later. One more year of warranty left. By then, I'll be wanting a new one.
I consider myself pretty handy with a PC having had one since the 286 processor days but I am a network biff - everything is great when it all sets itself up and works fine - total disaster trying to trace the problem when your network and internet fails.
One chap took me through a load of checks and DOS Cmd instructions (a few years since I've been there - never on DOS networking). I disconnected while my home system rebooted (his and her workstations, laptop, 3 printers, two scanners). When the first try failed and I phone again, straight through to a techie geek who carried on where the last guy left off. Brilliant!
The problem was that my modem had become corrupt and wouldn't reset (I've got a hole in my finger from holding the button in). Slid in a replacement modem - all up and running in 20 mins.
The peace of mind that the free, inclusive 3 year warranty is providing us is greatly valued by us and greatly underestimated by many. Our next computers will be Medion from Aldi.

Any idea what the motherboard is?
Considering overclock capability.0 -
its just what customers say to me, it is true about returns policy now, but if you have any problems and dont get any luck with helpline, managers instore have their own help line.
aldi has change their policy as some people were buying lawnmower in spring then returning them in autumn to get full refund.0 -

Medions are brill we have 3 in the family. The warrenty thing is great, we have used it several times even after 2.5 years.
As far as I know the 3 year warrenty only applies to desktop models, laptops are a year. Please confirm this if you are purchasing. I would definitely buy another one.0 -
