Argos Sent Me a PS3 - What to do?

Blinko,
If OP uses it then he is accepting it and therefore, accept the contract from Argos to supply the item. He's best to put it in a cupboard for a couple of weeks once he's written his letter - and I appreciate that putting a PS3 in a cupboard and to not use it is the equivalent of having Gail Porter pop around your house naked and demanding sexual favours and you saying "come back in a fortnight will you love!.
I suppose the alternative is play with it (the PS3, I've moved on from Gail Porter) for 16 days and then return it to your local store under Argos's normal returns policy (unless the PS3 is exlcuded from that, which it might be as it is a computer). He could still return under distance selling regulations of course - either way losing the PS3 - which, having had a go on one at a mate's who'd imported one at Christmas time, OP ain't missing out on much.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -

As through this life you travel,
you meet some funny men
Some rob you with a six-gun,
and some with a fountain pen0 -
Firstly I think the OP is a complete a***hole for buying 2 in the hope of selling them on ebay - this type of behaviour made lots of Wii-less kids very upset last Xmas.
I'm so glad the PS3 launch has flopped so these people will be unable to sell their consoles on for the RRP.
Secondly, if it was me I would sit on it for 2 months, then if they've not contacted you then sell it/use it.
If they do subsequently contact you, tell them you sent them a letter at the time asking them what they want to do about it, but the letter must have been lost in the post. DONT go wasting your money clearing up their mistake by ringing their 0870 numbers0 -

So putting it on eBay and hoping for the best is out of the question?Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

A similar thing happened to me - I ordered a PC via a well known retailer online, waited ages, got one, and then another arrived!!!! I even had to sign for them both!
I kept the "extra" one for a few months incase they took payment, but they never did so I sold it!
This was about 3 years ago now! Not ethical I know, but hey, like the retailer, I was happy to make a profit!0 -
