Tesco - up to 50p off per litre of fuel

hi
followed the advice on here and got 50p off a litre. Only bought things I use and got £5 off from last week. The fuel tokens obtained today have to be used by 11 August.
In our tescos they had a shelf on the first row with all the items you need to buy to get the 10p off. In the normal aisles there were no £7 jars of Nescafe or the refills so if its not on the normal shelf, have a look at the promo shelf.
I also tried jtd twice. Once with my normal shop when I only managed to get 2 x10p of a litre and then I sat down had a cuppa in tesco and decided to go for all 5 so I bought the remaining stuff I needed to get 30p of a litre and then made sure I bought the remaining 8 items for the JTD (just the difference which is like asda & sainsburys price promise).
I'm hooked now on JTD so will be reading that thread too.
Thanks for all the help on here. You've been really patient and explained it for all us newbies to JTD and fuel deals - keep up the good workThe Cabbage

I checked out my Mr T order this evening and looked at this but couldn't see it working for me.
so didn't bother. I picked up the double strength robinsons half price in co*p this week plus charmin 9 pack at just £3. I have plenty of coffee and don't need any sauce or beans. Its a shame they aren't doing their spend over £50 voucher as at least Id get one.

First to reply to the person who stated it's only an online offer not so. I have got vouchers when I shopped in store.
What bothers me about this offer is one needs to have a near empty tank to make this offer worth while. 10p off a litre is only £4.00 on a 40litre fill and if one is paying £4.00 over the odds to buy two or more items of an expensive brand at an expensive shop to get one 10p voucher the best one can do is break even and if one puts less in ones tank then it could be even costing money.
I would have thought that the experts at Money Saving Expert would have spotted this potential trap rather than leaving it to buyer beware.0 -
Hello someone earleir mentioned that Morrys may have ended their beans promo can anyone confirm this? I'm thinking the only option for JTD left is for the juice and the coffee. Does this sound right? Thankyou all you clever bunnies who have this sorted!0

The trouble is MSE rarely spell it out in black and white. They leave it up to individuals to decide for themselves whether or not it's a good deal but many seem to take the view 'Martin says so it must be true.'
The second from last sentence that I've quoted make exactly the point you've mentioned.
It's a bit fiddly but could give a huge saving
Getting the full 50p/litre saving is a bit of a challenge.

If you shop at Tesco and normally buy the items anyway, it's a no-brainer - especially the washing powder, as it's cheaper than elsewhere.
The other items are currently cheaper in other supermarkets
The crucial calculation is that 10p/L off could save £5 on a typical 50 litre tank, so provided you're not overpaying by £5+ for any one item, you can make a saving.
However, it's pointless buying stuff you won't use, as this diminishes the saving hugely.0 -
Ordered online and enough to get the full 50p off. When the delivery arrived, I was disappointed that I got no vouchers with my purchase (also had another issue where my spend £40 or more and get £5 off wasn't applied either).
Quickly phoned the call centre and my vouchers are now in the post. The driver was so concerned, he even phoned me 20 minutes later to find out if I got it sorted out.0 -
I went to Tescos yesterday and bought 3 x coffee, 2 x squash, 3 x ketchup, 1 x mayo, and a few other staples that I knew would be almost identical in price when it came to comparison.
Total spend in Tesco - approx £42.00, but I had a £5 coupon, so it brought it down to £37.00.
Five petrol coupons spent on putting 56L in my car - £28 saved.
Price check shows my shopping was £10 cheaper at Sainsburys - £10 voucher now printed.
I now have a cupboard full of squash, coffee, ketchup & mayo, a car full of petrol at 79p per litre and my net spend with Tescos was -£1.00.
Gotta Love Tescos eh?

This is the best deal ever.It does not matter how much you can get the products for in any other supermarket. The fuel purchase is the key.Take my example from yesterday,i bought 5 X 300 grm nescafe coffee @ £7.00 each = £35.00.armed with my 5 X 10p off fuel vouchers went over to the petrol station and filled up with £102 (74 litres) giving me a discount of £37.00 making the fuel purchase only £65.00.this means they actually effectively gave me £2.00 to take away their coffee!!you can also use clubcard for both the coffee purchase and fuel purchase, combine this with any "£5.00 when you spend £40.00"vouchers you may not have used makes it even cheaper. You can use your 50p off vouchers on up to 100 litres of fuel saving you £50.00 off your fuel or tescos giving you £15.00 to take away their coffee. To put my point across if you were going into Tescos today anyway to buy 100 litres of fuel you could buy 5 jars of coffee and throw them straight in the bin if you wanted as you left the store as those "golden tickets" (5 x 10p off fuel vouchers )would still save you £15.00 on your fuel purchase.the key is to fill up with as much cheap fuel as you can, dont use them for small amounts, make sure your tank is on empty.people are reading the deal all the wrong way, looking at the price of the qualifying products instead of the amount of savings you can make on fuel. The key to make the most savings is to get your hands on those vouchers as cheap as possible (£35.00)for the coffee so as long as you can get 70 litres in your vehicle saving you £35.00 you get the coffee for free.Simple as.if you can get more than 70 litres in Tescos are actually paying you 50p to take away their coffee for every litre you can cram in.If you dont like Nescafe or are happy with a cheaper brand but lake something comfortable up your bum buy 5 of the andrex deals 5x £10.00 = £50.00 if you can only get say 60 litres of fuel in your vehicle you would save £30.00 at the pump meaning you would only actually pay only£20.00 for 90 rolls of andrex.even if you could buy all the qualifying products in own brand form from aldi it still makes no sense to do so as you can actually have quality brands and if you do it right they actually pay you to take it away.I have done the coffee deal 5 times now, amassing 25 jars of coffee which when i cash in all my fuel vouchers over next 2 weeks(both myself and my wife spend £100 each week on fuel)for free or better still they paid me to take away!!!! another idea to ram home the deal and cost Tescos most is to round up the litre indicator on the pump rather than the monetry value which we normally do,i actually had to "dump"4p of diesel in the bucket of sand to my side as my car could take no more fuel as the vouchers are only for full litres of fuel not part litres. And if you use JTD ,well, the savings will be out of this world !!!Happy shopping, this could cost Tescos millions, ihave this morning actually sold my Tesco shares before posting, just in case!!!0

If you're not going to use them consider donating them to a foodbank or similar. My Tesco actually has baskets for our foodbank behind the tills. I decided I wasn't going to use 5 x gold blends from this deal so gave one to a local church, one to local CAB.
Reminds me of the old Birds Eye beef in gravy deal where the nation's homeless projects had their freezers stacked with the stuff from mse-ers taking advantage of a clubcard points deal which meant that the points were worth more than the product!0
