The telecom company had already breached the Data Protection Act for passing my details on about a debt which didn't exist. That's why I sued them.

IIRC, they have this if you've done anything with them online. It's yet another one of our seemingly unending national scandals. :(
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • Did a bit of online research on finding out my phone number. We know the DVLA will give registered keeper details for a payment of £2.50 (that a good income for our government considering the amount of people traced?)

And...192.com shows ex-directory telephone numbers from the electoral register for a payment of 23p it seems. It even shows names of those living at the address, or those who have lived at the address (it shows my exs name). So much for data protection!

Tell them you are recording the telephone conversation and say " The debt is denied and any further contact will be considered harassment and reported to the OFT"

Which is why you should always tick the box requesting to be excluded from the edited register. Note that credit reference agencies can access the full register for credit checks, so there is no reason to be on the edited register, which allows any commercial use.

My wife and I both have outstanding invoices from Met Parking. One morning my wife got a call (can't remember if it was Rox. or G White). I went to take over the call, but they said they could only speak to her. I told them she has nothing more to say and put the phone down.

Later that morning they rang me, and I said I refused to discuss it with them.

    They haven't rung since !

The last letter we received was from GW as a 'Final Warning' on 24 May. I feel disappointed not hearing from them since !!

Well they did tell you it was the final one.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I emailed every email address available at Roxburghe a couple of days ago with the following, and I haven't heard a peep from them since...

    Dear Sirs

Some time ago you sent me a 'Parking Charge Notice' relating to an "alleged" (your word) overstay at Asda, North Shields.

Since then you have sent several reminders but have failed to confirm whether or not the supposed contravention is 'alleged' as you originally stated. Neither have you managed to identify the driver of the vehicle who you claim is responsible. It certainly wasn't me, and I can't remember who was actually driving the vehicle anyway. As there is no law that will force me to divulge whoever the driver was, and despite your claims and misquotes from Civil Procedure Rules, I wish you good luck with that one.

In short, please put up, or shut up. I have no intention of paying Excel Parking, you, or your fake firm of solicitors a penny and your barrage of ridiculous intimidation really isn't going to work, although I am tempted to send some gentlemen from the debt collection agency that I use from time to time round to see you to recover the costs I have incurred in dealing with your pathetic and groundless attempts at extortion.

I do not expect to hear from you again, and bid you good day.
