Granny loaf is an egg-free fruitcake - my mum used to make it. Must get the recipe. I think it was from a very well known basic cookbook though - either the Be-ro book or Delia's Complete Cookery Course.
Edit: think it's actually fat-free as well as egg-free! Basically a very tasty low fat cake!
Will ask my mum what cookbook it's in when I see her tomorrow...Operation Get in Shape

Been to the dentist - and I didn't need a root filling - yaaay.
(Well not this time)
Need to go now and sort out the slow cooker. Tried to make veggie curry a la Gingham last night, but after 6 hours the carrots were still hard, so we had to settle for cheese on toast (one of my fave meals). Think I'll put it in a pot and cook it normally. I know its not very OS to admit it, but I'm not that great with the SC. Soups are OK, but otherwise I miss the depth of flavour you get with ordinary cooking. The stuff doesn't seem to "Concentrate" the same way it does in the oven or on the hob. I keep trying tho'.

What changed? How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
