    Hi everyone,

I've been feeling much more positive the last couple of days - I know it's all to do with work but I'd got into the state where I couldn't be bothered to do anything at home and had given up on my diet (after losing 21lbs) Anyway I'm back on the diet and have been taking baby steps with the housework and have booked a holiday.

Work situation still won't be solved for a couple of weeks but I should know where I stand by the middle of April and then I can go away the following week to either celebrate or think about my future.

Welcome to Old Style Immoral Angel - I keep an eye on your doings on the DFW board - as BRzl has said don't try to do too much at once, just do what you can and you'd be amazed at the difference it makes. Look at some of SammyKaye's threads, she has a lo and manages her finances well. I'm full of admiration for you young mothers coping like you do.

Penpin, I wish your throat would get better, it's been going on for ages.

Frugal Fairy, there are a few of us here with underactive thyroid, I'm one so PM me if you think I can help (have had one for 20 years).

Hugs to anyone who needs them.

    Morning everyone

It's a late start for me as I was on MSN yakking away until around 4.00 am last night. Where does the time go when you're having a chinwag (or more technically a keyboard and fingers wag)?

The fact that I am at home obviously indicates that I am not at w*r* (yes I know that is a bit Irish, lol). I think I have been sacked - nobody has tried to contact me despite a promise yesterday from the duty manager that the personnel manager would call me later that day. There is also no letter this morning as our local Postman Pat has been and gone. I have to be brave and phone them up, but I don't think my long term prospects there are looking too good. Well, would you go back having been coerced into doing something against company policy which was also illegal, being consequently ridiculed by a customer and then being bawled at in public by another member of staff?? It's rather an impossible situation for me and the company deserves atrophy for being so utterly lazy and complacent about the situation.

I must admit I don't care about the job or the company - it was only a filler type job while I was at a low point after having a v.bad experience in my previous job - but it is v.worrying that I don't have another source of income. Gotta give my cv a shake and get out there and get on with it.

Shez...dont' worry Missus, I guessed that your internerd connection went splat the other night. I'm sure we can catch up again soon.

Charlie'sMum...that wee puppy is so beautiful (there is no such thing as an ugly puppy of course). Whoever was so callous and cruel to him did not deserve such a beautiful bundle of loveliness in the first place. I do hope that the saying "what goes around comes around" is true and that s/he gets their just rewards. Lucky little puppy to have found someone to care enough to find a good home for him - he'll be alright in the long term.

Big hugs to everyone else, have a good Friday.

    Morning all

Welcome to OS Immoral Angel - You'll like it here.

Grey, miserable and raining heavy here today - pah!

Mr T's just been and delivered a lovely shop - got a discount code from the voucher board for £12 off an £80 shop - ordered extra washing powder, loo rolls and cat food to bump the price up - at least I know they'll get used.

Just drained my chicken carcass, picked the bones and will turn it into a chicken and veg soup for tea - still have a chicken pie left from last night too - managed to make 2. Was only a medium chicken but it's done us a roast dinner, 2 chicken pies, I had some for lunch yesterday and enough for a soup - so all in all 17 portions - amazing how you can pad these things out with loads of veg.

Going to stip the beds in a bit - waiting for my old cat to wake up for lunch first - he's getting so doddery that I try and leave him on the bed to sleep for a good few hours in the morning - any old excuse eh!

Hope you all have a great day.

  • Hi I_A, good to see you over here, its a great board, helped me so much with things when i first moved into my own home a couple of years ago :)

Not up to much today, very tired and achy (think its the cold weather) so i'm just pottering around doing bits and pieces. We're going to stay at DP's mam's tonight, theres an event or something on at Camelot so mil is taking DD and then we're all going out to eat.

    B - porridge
D - Left over cowboy pie
T - Eating out, will make DD some beans on toast when she gets home from school to keep her going until later.

    Take care all

I_A, why not leave a note in your sig like "I'm running the Race for Life, dd/mm/yyyy", then if people see it and want to sponsor you, they can always send you a PM and ask for the link ;):)

Forgot to say welcome to Old Style, BTW! :hello:
