Thank you everyone who has been so welcoming. Could I ask if it gets easier if I just plug away at Level 1 for a while?
Yes, it does. Just do your Level 1s for now, and when you're doing that amount easily, you can up the ante and go for Level 2. And let's face it, no-one can Fly at their best with toothache!:o

You're so right, and I'd just take bin bags to it all if I hadn't lost some sentimental jewelery and things among the chaos :( Unfortunately looks like I'm going to have to go through it all a little more carefully - hopefully the local charity shops should benefit though
Just a thought - maybe Wolfie's Mantra will help...

No further word from Mr LW, so I reckon they're going on til 17:30.;)

No matter, the quiche and potato salad are both ready, just need chucking on plates with some other salad veg; and Ted won't stand on ceremony, he'll have his dins at 18:00 as usual.:D

Thanks DustyKitten and LameWolf - I was just having a bit of a wobble there. We don't have kids, so in penance for being such a wuss on my first day, I'm off to wash the outside of the front and back doors.
    Better is good enough.

Back in again even if I do pants and things seem no further forward. At least I'm doing something rather than nothing. Plodded on with the kitchen and downstairs a bit but did clean the loo and sort some rubbish in the bathroom. I'll do a bit more later as I want as much rubbish/recycling as possible out this week before we go away. I must buy a few more plastic crates to start packing things into to go away, I've managed to book next Sunday - October so we can come back the day before term starts if we wanted to. Not going far just yorkshire but I think it'll be the break I need and this summer plus weekends until October and October half term is costing me the grand sum of £520 plus whatever electric we use on the final site but the site has free fishing for the kids and I'm paying £20 a day for them to fish here.

I've done washing, bench clearing, pots cleaning, fridge reorganising, some freezer sorting and a bit more today

Right, wiggle on required in the last half hour before DS1 returns, been out with his new support worker so hoping it went well. Hugs to you all x
One day I might be more organised...........

The living room looks better - front door done inside and out, window from inside, weeded/swept outside front door, most of carpet hoovered, sofas wiped, hoovered at bottom of stairs and half-way up and stairs are decluttered.

Tea was yummy (well, at least I thought so). I made soup with yellow split peas, carrot, potato, garlic, stock cube and then stirred in some shredded ham left over from a roast once I'd blended the lot. I'd hoped that DS2 would enjoy dunking bits of chicken and pitta bread in his soup, but he didn't like it. :( DS1 will probably eat it, but he's still not home yet.

Hoping to do this in the next two hours:
    clear laundry from DS2's bed
    bring washing in and distribute
    peg next lot out
    start DW and WM
    do an hour's planning
    bath

I could do with a power nap first - very tired suddenly.

I am absolutely exhausted.. I am so tired I could just cry.

To say we have spent all day cleaning and tidying it is barely noticeable. :( I am really demotivated and not happy ..

Why have you all not been and collected your evil BD's? They are still here!

Evening! I'm home and finally it's the holidays :D

I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the parents (and one in particular) and almost tearful at some of the lovely comments in cards and the pupils' books.

Dusty - forgot to say how pleased I was to hear positive news about Ed :j

As it's now the hols, I was wondering ........ is anyone planning or thinking of planning a meet :D:p

I have washing on the line and, looking at the forecast, I should be able to get everything washed and dried in the next few days.

pigpen - love the photo of the babies; now your next challenge is to get a photo of your 10 and the grandchildren all together :p:p
