Every surface I can reach in the kitchen has been cleaned, apart from the windows, which really and truly don't need doing at present.:D

Had a text from Mr LW; he's hoping the course will finish at 16:30 today instead of 17:30, He also rang me earlier, during his lunch break, and apparently, they're cramming a 7-day course into 5 days to begin with, but the course itself assumes little background knowledge, and they're all experienced DBAs, so they're moving along at a cracking pace.:T I think he's quite enjoying himself, it's just the traveling that's a bit of a pain in the fundament.:o

Well I've made a start on DD's bedroom - not got very far but I'm plodding along. I'll hav to cook tea shortly though before we go out to Beavers and Cubs. Probably just got time for a HHC then I'll start on tea.

They also helped me put the loads of washing out and put them all away again. One more load to bring in and the last one of the day to hang out. Then, I am done. In that is.

I've been spending some time over on the hoarding thread and think I might be another one who's on the borderline of having an issue with holding on to things :o I seem to have accumulated too many things for my current flat, 2 rooms at my dad's church and my mum's shed. I really need to get on top of things as I've not even seen / sorted most of that stuff for 5 years or so, I dread to think what's in there. Hopefully if I can declutter and get on top of my current place then I can start sorting through the other things afterwards.
None of my business; feel free to ignore but if you truly haven't SEEN that stuff for 5 years you probably don't need it...any of it. It is a burden - if you get rid of it you will feel FREE!

Thanks Julie Jim and Dusty for sterkling work on the thread.

Obviously I am on hols. So I'm ill. Nevertheless I have been into school and

washed out all the trays the kids use - dried outside in the sunshine

removed various bits of fruit from the building - fruit flies we DON'T need. What's past it's best is now in my compost bin

removed packets of biscuits that will go OOD - the human vacuum that is DS will deal with them

killed rather a lot of silverfish

moved my desk out - am donating it to Y5 as it's 30cm shorter and will fit better - and as it is used for dumping on because of where it is in the classroom I don't need it.

Moved a manky bookcase out, changed it for a neat, locking filing cabinet

Cleaned the PC, rearranged it - bet it won't work in September - it'll be sulking, and tidied THAT area

    vacuumed where stuff was shifted

discussed getting rid of stuff the old head knew we had but the new one doesn't (stuff we don't use and was being kept 'in case') Got rid of more,

should have stopped half-an-hour before I did, really:o I'm jolly tired now (you know what I mean;))

And before I did all THAT I pegged out two loads and ironed what was waiting to be ironed. All of it.

    Welcome noobs!

The new regime did not get off to the best start. I woke up at 5.00 am with toothache, and the dog was promptly sick on a new wool rug. It turns out I have to have a titanium pin removed and the tooth re-filled next week.

However, I decluttered a bag of wet roadsalt to the tip on the way back from the dentist, so that's today's decluttering task done.

The bathroom was much dustier than I expected, but up to 'easy reach' height it's now done and dusted (I've always wondered what that expression meant) and has been decluttered. It took a lot longer than half an hour though.

Thank you everyone who has been so welcoming. Could I ask if it gets easier if I just plug away at Level 1 for a while?
    Better is good enough.

just reporting in, bathroom done :D

Washed three winter coats (thanks for that, I'd kind of forgotten about them..) It's so warm and sunny today they're pretty much dry already.

I did want to de-scale the shower hose and head in some citric acid, but I can't get the hose off the tap..:undecided Maybe it's limescale that's wedging it on.. Oh dear. Might try some Viakal on it. Apparently it's cheap at Mr A at the moment.

thanks for the list, I find it motivates me to do a bit each day.

Yes HoneyBear it will get easier. Trick is to keep on top of the areas you do so they remain easier to clean and then to add a few new bits in. Babysteps. Hope your tooth is not too painful.

Off to sweep up next door and then that is me done there.

You're so right, and I'd just take bin bags to it all if I hadn't lost some sentimental jewelery and things among the chaos :( Unfortunately looks like I'm going to have to go through it all a little more carefully - hopefully the local charity shops should benefit though
