Food production per sq/metre in urban environments, cause apparantly the government doesnt have a clue *how much* we could potentially feed ourselves. Theres only data from plots where people spend all day working on the crops, when in actual fact most people have full time jobs/other commitments.
That does sound interesting! I work for a plant research institute and part of our research is how we go about feeding the 9bn people we anticipate occupying the planet by the year 2050.0 -

Bear in mind it's been an atrocious year for many crops, so you might not get standard / annually meaningful statistics0 -

Yeah, its an ongoing process of recording thats envisioned to end in a database that allows the public to enter their own data online to eventually generate maps so you can see how well a certain crop does throughout the uk in a colour coded map.0 -

At the beginning of the year, a staycation seemed OK but now that it's here, I wish I had something else planned. Not to worry, I have a garage to clear out, a house to clean and decorate and a [STRIKE]jungle [/STRIKE]garden to tame!
I have enough furniture and junk in the garage to furnish a house so I think I'll get in touch with one of those charities who help out people in need. I've got a suite, bunk beds, a single bed, shelving units, coffee table, curtains, bedding etc. Maybe I'll get the car in where it belongs
2 weeks off on a staycation ( Love the saying) and a lot of decorating to keep me busy.
I just hope the weather stays like this :jLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

Surprise champagne cocktails in the sun this evening, the promise of a car boot sale in the morning if we're lucky, and lolling about in the garden next week if the weather forecast turns out to be true.
This time last week we VERRRRRRY nearly booked a last minute week away, and are verrrrrrry glad we didn't! Mind you, that's helped in part by the fact that come the first of August we're off to France in our titchy caravan for four weeks to loll about in the sun and on a beach there, too. Life could be worse!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
