Only person who would have really understood passed away a few days after my mum went into hospital. I also feel guilty that she knew how I'll my mum was when she passed I think it quickened her death.

My eldest brother who was my rock and at the hospital most of the time with me and mum has been really depressed and suicidal since mum died so I have to tread carefully there.

I can't comprehend at what you're going though just now. Just try and hold your brother and tell him of the good times, there is light at the end of the the tunnel(silly cliche i know, but it works) We're ALL here for you.:):):)

I'm pretty sure at grief counselling that they will just tell me what they think I want to hear but they can't do what I want - and that's to speak to my mum.

Sorry to bring the thread down will move off this topic now.

On the other hand Flo my OH was devastated when his dad(82 year old) passed away. He went to a bereavement counsellor - just two sessions. Helped him enormously to move on a wee bit.

    Flo Flo,
I'm not a believer and have never been myself, but I have a friend who goes to a spiritualist church.
They regularly have mediums and guest speakers and she says it has helped her deal with grief and other issues she has.
As it's a church it's not the same as a one to one, but just wondering if something like this might help you.....If it's not for you, you needn't go again and at least you aren't going to be fleeced.

Lol, I actually went to one once with my mum as a friend of hers talked us into going with him. And that definitely wasn't my sort of thing, I was ok until they said they had someone's aunt Mary with them and a woman said ' I know her she had a canary up the Leg of her drawers' I know I shouldn't but :)

Dont feel bad about it, you are not bringing the thread down, they talk about all sorts on here, thats why its a great plase! You have found people here where you respect their opinions, just because your question is not about tescos doent mean you shouldnt ask!

I understand Councelling is more about them enabling you to express how you feel about your loss, they do reflection techniques among other things, to help you make sense of how you feel, they remain objective and non judgemental.

Counselling is not about giving you the answers or them telling you what you should do or how you should feel, they do not 'advise' but help you to discover things for yourself in a safe environment. You are much more likely to be 'told what they think you want to hear' by a medium, than by a counsellor.

Just be wary if you decide to go to a medium, maybe go with a friend, and only if you can find one that has a very good reputation. The more they charge, usually the less genuine they are (ie in it for money) people who believe they have a genuine gift rarely charge for their services.

Nice to see you back 3Dogs, and Frequent.
Well, the shopping trip was a washout. Went to A's, S and T, and more than one of each, not a womble to be found. No beer mocs, no flops, no oj in A's, someone nicked a couple of my whoopsies out of my trolley, and the final straw was that DS2's car failed it's mot!:mad: and the shop I went to to get a part his car needed has gone out of business.
The day did improve though. Went to another T's this evening. Loads of whoopsies cheap, got the wine with the double discount, lovely reduced flowers, did a couple of targetted jtd shops, and greenfinger has given me some beer mocs:T:D. Just waiting for my jtd vouchers now, though with the way my luck has been today I won't be surprised if that goes boobs up as well.:)
Anyway, goodnight all, hugs to those in need.
just to let you know, the sains book with mocs arnt always by the check outs. i found some in the mag racks. hth
